Where Are You Going When You Die?
 

This is not intended to be a discussion of theology or religious beliefs...Just a simple question...Where do you honestly think that you are going to end up?...Some people believe that they are going to Heaven...Some believe that they'll end up in Hell...Still others believe that they are coming back as another person or an animal...More than a few feel that they will simply cease to exist at all...I personally don't believe the last one, I think that human life is too powerful to go out like a candle flame...It would seem that we would have to continue on to some plane of existence...What do you think?

Actually, what you just said is the basis of my "belief system".

I believe that we will go wherever our belief system restrains us to going.

For example, say you are a Christian, and you have done some very bad things in your life, and you honestly believe that you are going to Hell. This is where you will go when you die.

I myself believe that we just move on to a form of pure energy when we die, if we are ready to move on. If not, we get reincarnated. I honestly think that I am ready to take that next step in my "true life".

Im destined to unfortunately be reincarnated as an AOL tech support specialist that will be forced to deal with all the customers that dont seem to realize that the little slot in the front of their computer is not the place where you stick your credit card when you are trying to make purchases online.

i believe what you believe Ege. whether you are christian, or muslim, you are going where you want. or if you don't have a religion, like myself, youll just end up whereever you want. i p ersonally wanna stick around on earth and play tricks on people

my belief doesnt work so wel though cuz see i dont see it as christian heaven, catholic heaven etc... so basically when the christians, catholics, jews or whoever go to heaven they will all end up in the 1 heaven there is and be liek 'wtf are u doing here u heathen' then even in heaven they will bitch and fight

but to better answer your question... I believe that when we, I , whomever....dies, we, I, whomever just ceases to exist. If you were reincarnated would you know of your former life? If so why has no one in all this time ever come forward with some kind of proof? If not.... um whats the point?

As for heaven & hell.... hey to each their own I suppose, but until I find a rock with "Made by God" stamped or scribed in the bottom... Im gonna stick with the death=worm dirt theory.

Everyone has their own personal belief system that they will go to. If you believe in heaven, then you will go to heaven and be with all of the people you love. But, it is your own personal heaven, not some giant place in the sky. The same with Hell.
And for those that believe that they will turn into nothing, I really feel sorry for them. Because they will. There souls will still be alive, yes, but they will be so confused that they will just refuse to perceive anything around them, and will be enveloped in blackness.

same sort of idea though. see i think of it like this episode of family guy. something great happens on earth and the guy says' thank you god. thank you' and up in heaven god says 'wait no it wasnt me it was gan..' then ganesha (or whoever it was ) says 'oh dont worry about it i'm used to it'

ive always ben a bit mischevous so i think it would be funny if they all ended up in the same place. personally i jus think its so stupid all the blood shed and anger and whining that they do about each other, i've had many people try to convert me. sucked cuz i thoguht maybe they were my friend, but then maybe they just wanted me to join their clan?

I've had constant pressure from family and friends since as far back as I can remember. I don't believe in God, and even if I did, I sure as hell wouldn't worship him. Talk about a cold-hearted bastard.

honestly i cant see how people could worship a person/being who drowned all of the earth because everyone, even the damn cows and pigs, were 'sinning,' who killed all the new borns, 'tested' abrahams (or whoever) faith by telling him to sacrifice his own son, turning what's her face into salt just for being curious... oh the list goes on and on and on.......

i do believe in God. not in the way the bible or whatever that is states though. i do believe there is a higher being, but not this creator shit. although if he did create, now he is just watching a big movie. i think its ok to believe in God but not as a crutch like most folk 'why should i bother trying to get a better job to take care of my family when god will take care of it'

i had a jehovahs witness tell me how the world is being run by satan. God and Satan had a bet, God said 'i must rule the people' and Satan said 'let them rule themselve,s they will be fine' so God said 'ok'. then she told me some crap 'see all of the bad thats happening? its because of satan' and blah blah. religious folk look too much at the negative and not enough at the positive.

I have this horrible feeling i will fade into nothingness, which is why i am so ambitious in this life. If you think you only have one go, you try harder to get shit done.

Sadly I just have this feeling that nothing happens when you die, it will be just like before you were born. It's scary thinking about it, being gone for eternity, but I guess you won't mind cause you won't know.

This sounds like heaven to me. To feel relief and to know nothing and be nothing, to just dissapate into blackness. Sometimes i dont fear it at all.

I don't really know If I've been bad enough or good enough to go either way....I don't really care about me dying... it's the thought of losing family or friends that gets to me

my mom always says im going to hell because i alyays answer yes when people say jesus crist. and when she asks who's at the door i say GOD! i mean wat do u expect, you see me at the door and still ask who is it? uh dumb or what? but im sure she's joking, *thinks* ow! it hurts too much! but all in all i' say im going to heaven because hell is afraid i'd take over and GOD doesnt want that, now does he. because in theory if the devil off threw the balance of life and death, heaven and hell we would all be screwed royally. and as a devout cathloic *grins evily* i cant wait till it happens........*cakles anoingly*

now that i've given it some thought i have come to see that im going to live for a long time so i dont need to worry about where i'll end up, i'll leave that up to god and satan to decide. i've done good and i've done evil and i've lived for a while so wateva they want to do w/ me is fine. and now that i've gotten into a deeper thought train i've come to realize that how do we kno if theres a life after thisone? is there a heaven or a hell for that matter? and if so wat does it look smell and taste like? how will we kno if we are in heaven or hell? is there a sign that says now entering hell?and when you get there do you have to sign in? do they get room service? what about phone calls to check up on the ones on earth?

that series of questions was just to prove how much we dont kno about heaven and hell. life is what we make of it and the afterlife is what we make of our lives. that should answer everyones questions! :D

My take on different religions: It's a matter of perceptions. Allah, God, Jehova, Mars, they're all the same. It's the perception of them that differs. As for the multiple Gods in Rome and Greece, same thing. If "God" isn't a regular being, who's to say there's only one? You can percieve it however you want. It's like a survey, there isn't a wrong answer. Except Mormons.

When I say "God" I mean.. like.. God. Not, ya know,.. Allah. Or something. Not "a god" just "God".
