Chairs

Chairs have always horrified me. It's the way they are so still and silent. Sometimes you can almost imagine somebody there. I have four chairs in my bedsit.

They are placed like that, above.

One morning I got up and I found them like this.

As you can imagine, this freaked me out! I did not move them, nobody could have moved them!

If I ever set them out in a different order, they can change the events of the day radically. I once placed the top chair on its back and went out, and immediately I found I couldn't talk to people. Another time I put a chair on top of another and then went out and a blown about newspaper got wrapped around my leg.

Sometimes I turn off the light and I switch it back on again quickly to see if I catch them move.

I would get rid of them, but they are very comfy chairs.

Somehow, it's just not quite the same when we know who it is...

I wish my life was as interesting as yours. To me, a chair has always just been an immobile piece of furniture that you simply sit on. Fucking rip-off...

sometimes in the middle of the night i peek out from underneath my comforter to look at my desk chair, to make sure satans not sitting in it staring at me sleep.

Really? Didn't know he was that creative. :p

But seriously, Posh - You're a good writer. Reminds me a little bit of the short stories of JD Salinger (not THIS thread, per se, but some of the other ones).
