My dog's name is Gentle Ben. I'm not sure if you're familiar with that old TV series. Ben was such a sweet bear. I think horses are beautiful animals.

I love all animals. Dogs are my favorite, particularly Schnauzers. I have two of them. Star and Ben.

For wild animals: Pandas, Manatees, Black Panthers...the list goes on and on...

Vodstok 10-14-2008 09:02 AM

I have always been fascinated by cephalopods (squid, octopus), with cuttlefish being particular favorites. If any class of animal is going to develope sentience and technology, my money is on these guys. Dolphins lack the limbs necessary to develope technology.

Although my second bet would be on Rats. in terms of intelligence and breeding ability, they are untouchable.

And I am with Urge on that, i love rats. My best pet to date was a rat.

But if forced to choose between being a cat person or dog person, i definitely favor dogs.

Don't have the energy to start a new thread, so I'll borrow some space from Dante's.

I have fleas.
They are making themselves quite comfortable in everything with fabric.
I used Frontline on the cat-twice, and it only seems to aggravate these supernazifleas

I caught a few crawling on me and had to smash them with a fucking hammer to kill them...they have .....evolved:eek

I think the cat has lost his mind with the infestation.

years ago i used a flea collar when my cat had them and it worked immediately.

i found that they left the house when there was nothing else for them.

i fucking hate fleas.

Love goats. I've always wanted a pygmy goat. They're adorable.

This is my favorite answer so far

Cockroaches- the ultimate low maintenance house pet. You don't even have to go to a pet store to get them. They come to you.

My dog got them from my friends dog and invaded the house....

moved all the furniture, bombed the house, re-washed every article of clothing and all the dishes afterward. What a pain in the ass.

I don't have many favorites in life, but I like dogs, horses, cats (big and small), and birds a lot.

neverending 10-14-2008 10:00 AM

I like squirrels. They always look like they're having a lot of fun.

Squirrels get lumped into the rat category with me; smart, cute, entertaining as hell.

Surprises me Frontline didn't work, that's what my parents use. We use Advantix. Our dog Cheyenne never had fleas before Rascal moved in, we didn't have to use anything. But the people who had Rascal before apparently didn't notice, or care much  that he was completely infested with fleas (he was one sick little puppy when we got him). Anyway, Advantix worked fast. We gave them baths, started them on that, washed all their bedding, and what was in the living room. Haven't seen a flea or tick since. We didn't even have to use the Advantix but a few times this year.

But apparently your fleas are a bit more tough then ours were.....:p

Anyway, obviously, I love dogs. And cats, any kind of cat really. I love white tigers, beautiful animals. :)

same here - i love 'em

said to be the most injury causing animals in the woods though (according to one forest ranger guy) because people do try to pet them because they are cute - but they bite like freaking crocodiles.

i was extremely lucky ... the squirrel that would sit on my lap to eat - i once thought i'd try to pet it and slowly moved my hand around behind it - as not to startle it ..

little bugger whipped around and had my finger between it's teeth .. no pressure but it was an unmistakable warning.

and this was with a squirrel i had a great relationship with ...

i imagine the pain to be equal to driving large nails through either side of your flesh at the same time.

Vodstok 10-14-2008 10:21 AM

I am really surpsrised no one has chosen this one yet:

sharks with frickin lasers on their heads

:D :D

I love animals as well....well excluding the bugs/insects---I'm terrified of them I'm the type whom will pet, play, and befriend random animals without even knowing the owners well enough to trust that they won't attack me afterwords. I know that isn't good, but I'm, slowly stopping.

But my favorite category is the canine family (Dogs, bears, etc)

But my favorite are Wolves (specifically gray wolves) They are beautiful, intelligent, and loyal. With that said it's only natural for my favorite dog to be the Siberian Husky. If I were a dog, I would so want to mate with this breed. Huskys are sexy dogs. I know it sounds weird, but I'm infatutated with this breed.

neverending 10-14-2008 12:36 PM

Bears are not canines.

Vodstok 10-14-2008 12:47 PM

No, but they are closely related to dogs, foxes and racoons.

Well I include them because they are distant relatives.

From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bear

Bears (family Ursidae) are mammals in the order Carnivora. Bears are classified as caniforms, or doglike carnivorans, with the pinnipeds being their closest living relatives.

neverending 10-14-2008 01:15 PM

So by that reasoning, chimpanzies are human.

Collosal Squid - They're so unlike any other creature.

Geddy 10-14-2008 01:42 PM

Sure, why not? Yes, a version, or as the classifiers put it a distant relative of the homo sapien human.

Your thinking and your method of expression are sloppy. Do you not see the difference between same as and distant relative of?

Good grief.

Well I meant relative, under my way of thinking.

Good grief???!?! Well sorry, everyone has an "off day" :(

Industrial strength fleas I tell ya.
Went to pick up my kids, now they're in my car:rolleyes:

Going to pick up some Advantix tomorrow, along with flea powder to put into all my fabric. Jeez, I'm tired just thinking about it.
Maybe I'll just hire someone, fuck it, I can do without something this month;)

crabapple 10-14-2008 07:33 PM

Pootie squirrels.

And yeah, fleas, those dirty pesky little bloodsuckers of the animal world...those little guys...sheesh!
