Genetic anomaly or God Reincarnate? You decide.

NEW DELHI (AP) — A baby with two faces — two noses, two pairs of lips and two pairs of eyes — was born in a northern Indian village, where she is doing well and is being worshipped as the reincarnation of a Hindu goddess.

Lali was born with a rare condition called craniofacial duplication, where a single head has two faces.

Little Lali's proud parents believe that she is truly a God reincarnate.

Excited villagers claim she is the reincarnation of the Indian God Ganesha and celebrated her arrival with clapping, cheering and offerings of gifts and money.

Now, I am pretty fascinated here. When I see stories like these, I am fascinated, then slightly disturbed and disgusted, and then filled with pathos...

What are your reactions?

The shared cheek looks like John Travolta's chin.

Indians seem to pump out a lot of defects...probably about poor nutrition.

There it is.

It must be one of the few places where you're treated like a god when you're deformed.

Unless you're that tree man guy, nerds probably think he's an ent.

I read about a guy who had this condition a couple hundred years ago or something ... he killed himself eventually, and he left a note saying that the other face used to whisper things to him when nobody else was around.

I could deal with having the whole "Januskopf" look(all the fun I could have freaking out stoners while wearing a hoodie) but Ron Jeremy's nutsack would definitely have to go.

When she talks will both mouths move? Like, does she have control over both faces. I know it sounds cool but it must be a nightmare for her brain. Especially the four eyes.

That brings up a really good point. I wonder if she has fully functioning optic nerves for all 4 eyes. The brain is pretty adaptable, it can have huge pieces missing and compensate, so maybe...

Most likely she won't really have any problems, maybe a few minor ones. Mainly because she was born with the two faces so she's going to grow up using them both, whereas if we woke up with an extra face it would be something totally different.

I read that when she blinks, she blinks with all four eyes... Which, to me, is pretty damn creepy.

Not sure if she can see out of them all, though.
