I hope this is the right forum here :)
i'm new, i'm todd, hi :) anways basically I am doing my A level in media studies and I am looking at creating a horror movie trailer. I first need research data to analyise, thus having something to base my movie on, so i'm asking please could you be so kind as to answer these horror related questions please, the answers don't have to be very long, just descriptive please :) 1) Why do you like horror movies? 2) What do you think makes horror such a sucessfull genre? 3) What do you class a good horror movie as containing? 4) What makes a 'good' horror film trailer? thank you so much in advance :) x |

A good trailer gives us an idea of the story but doesn't give too much away. And has a warp sound between each screen. And flashes of a monster or blood or something appearing every few seconds with a scream sound, only to dissapear less than a second later.

The BEST trailers always have what I call the "truncated sonofabitch" followed by an explosion.
For example, the good guy might say, "You messed with the wrong guy, you son of a b--" And then cut to an explosion. |
