Horror Movie Poster Battle

Since my original idea of battles on these boards has caught on quite well up here, I decided to start a new battle.
Which again , for these boards is original.
Sam the egg , you know I invented The Battle VS. threads on these boards so please give this thread a chance.

Ok, This is a battle of Horror Posters. If you never seen the movies
it don't matter, It's just the poster we're voting on.
This battle will have 6 rounds consisting of 64 posters.
After we complete this battle I'll do more poster themes.

I'll be using more than one poster for a film so I'll tell you the type
and for the most part the country they are from for each poster.

Let's begin.

ROUND ONE
MATCHUP # 1
THE BATTLE OF
HORROR MOVIE POSTERS

JAWS (1975)
US. THEATRICAL/STYLE A

VS.

JAWS 2 (1978)
US. THEATRICAL/STYLE A

REMEMBER IT'S POSTERS WE ARE VOTING ON...

StepfatherFan 01-26-2004 09:09 PM

Hmmm Its not like they are really THAT different. LOL I'll go with the first one for 2 reasons.

1. It looks creepier because the shark is coming up from the depths of the ocean.

2. More photo space for the shark, which is the REAL star of the film, and no cheesy bikkini girl.

avenger00soul 01-26-2004 09:56 PM

Jaws 2. Just look at the face on that girl. Haha.

bwind22 01-26-2004 10:18 PM

jaws 1

Arioch 01-26-2004 10:27 PM

1

bloodrayne 01-26-2004 11:35 PM

The first one is a classic...Have to go with that one

sniktawt 01-27-2004 12:09 AM

4-1 Jaws

StepfatherFan 01-27-2004 12:23 AM

Hey, cant you just call it a win for Jaws 1 and move on to some more...... ahhmm...INTERESTING posters? I nominate Stepfather 2: Make room for Daddy VS. Fright Night.

sniktawt 01-27-2004 12:46 AM

Let's give some other people time to vote.I just put the battle up.I usually go to 7 on the other boards so I'll see if that works here.
And I have my 64 posters but if you have any suggestions for future battles PM me the ideas.I'll be glad to use them.

Anyway, I just thought those might be good ideas. Especialy in the case of Fright Night. Ive always loved that poster.

sniktawt 01-27-2004 12:54 AM

Fright Night is in this battle.
There are a lot of great posters in this battle.
I usually don't list what I have on tap though, I like to surprise.

Sam The Egg 01-27-2004 09:20 AM

wouldn't Jaws vs. Tremors be a better battle?

I agree. Its kind of weird pitting Jaws 1 & 2 against each other. Especialy since the artwork is so much alike.

_Leatha_Face_ 01-27-2004 10:24 AM

Jaws 1 - looks better

Who said they have to be matched equal, as the battle goes on it'll get harder anyways as Posters will be eliminated.
And IMO The Tremors Poster sucks.

JAWS WINS

StepfatherFan 01-27-2004 11:20 AM

Well, I didn't even know there was an Italian one. LOL Anyway, I really like it, so I'm voting for it.

allmykids 01-27-2004 11:28 AM

US. But i do like freddys hand on the second one!

allmykids 01-27-2004 11:30 AM

Guess i should have looked closer, they both have the same hand.

avenger00soul 01-27-2004 11:31 AM

Have you ever seen the German Poster, Stepfather ?
That's in this battle too and it's quite nice.

Italian NOES leads 2-1

I'll be back on in a few hours to update.

deckard66 01-27-2004 11:58 AM

US one !!!

Haunted 01-27-2004 12:05 PM

I'm torn...really torn. I love the hand coming down almost as if Fred's sort of mastering a puppet. It says a lot.

I like the first one because of the art. It's a very interesting interpretation. I like the Italian one because it doesn't focus on one character. (Eventhough she was the main character).

Hmmmm.....

I'm going with the American one...it has more depth to me.

Signs515 01-27-2004 12:38 PM

That seems easy too me, US.

Evisceration 01-27-2004 12:54 PM

Movie Poster Battle?!

I'd pay to see two inadimate objects go at it.

American version owns.
