Sightings, tabloid type stuff, what do you like?

This is kind of a tangent to the Cryptozoology thread, only its for the kind of stuff they used to have on Sightings; the kind of stuff that is probably crap, but you just WANT it to be real...

I'll get things started: On an episode Sightings, I saw a thing about some creatures that are supposedly everywhere and are cylanders or tubes(?), and they fly really fast, and can supposedly be huge, like the size of airliners, or really small. there was some "Footage" of one in a video taken by some basejumpers (i think) who were getting ready to jum into one of those giant holes in the ground in south america.

Another one, this one just irritated me, was "Breatharians", people who supposedly subsist on air and nothing else. And we are supposed to believe they didnt have a ham sandwich after the crew left...

i seen ufo's four different times, i think there studying me.

Elvis and Bigfoot. Not necessary together but that would be sweet.

When i was a kid I was mad for the Loch Ness Monster..

I am all for science, it is practically a religion for me, but this is one thing they have completely detroyed for me... If there is a Loch Ness monster, it is gating in occaisionally from another dimension, perhaps Xen from Half-Life...

Its amazing what 2 minutes on google will get you, these things are called "Air Rods"

urgeok2 10-02-2008 05:20 AM

i pay no attention to any of this stuff ...

from the front page to the back and everything between .. ufo abductions, bigfoot, and brad pitt's love child, i couldnt give a shit about any of this crap.

if i want to see neat creatures, i'll watch animal planet ...
sure - some of that stuff is manipulated to be 'show worthy' but at least it exists !

I've always had a soft spot for Loch Ness info and sightings, even well done fake like Incident at Loch Ness (Werner Herzog) makes me feel like a giddy kid again.

Vodstok 10-02-2008 05:40 AM

Yeah, I consider most of it crap, but there is that little part in the back of my mind that says "What if?".

That little voice is also why i am agnostic rather than an athiest.

urgeok2 10-02-2008 05:41 AM

my little voice says "fuck - people are buying thiis shit ?"

No, she doesnt. Although, sometimes she dances and barks backwards like the midget from Twin Peaks.

My little voice only says what if?, Although sometimes its things like "What if you got some Taco Bell food?". My little voice is a pig.

Urge has four rats, OMG!

I did not know you were a rat fancier, urge.

I love all rodents! Well most of them. I don't like the ones that shake a lot, those make me nervous. (I like squirrels because they are super smart, they are just like little dogs, little burrito-sized dogs.)

Lily said hi to a rat at a store last weekend, the rat came over and gave her finger a little test bite and she thought it was the coolest thing...

God I miss having rats. The rat was even had a brown hood like mine did... :(

On subject though, there are supposedly places with 3 foot long rats; not capybaras or anythign liek that, actual Rats.

Another one I have always wished they would find a body of is Mokele-Mbembe. If it was real, it would be a living sauropod dinosaur. Sauropods were on their way out before the Cretacious, which was the last era of the dinosaurs, so it would be a HUGE deal.

I was upset when our first dog died, but I was absoultely destroyed when our rats died. I guess I am more a rat person than a dog person (but i do love our dog, moreso than any other dog before). Love that you can tell when they are happy to see you because they squint (it looks liek they are smiling) and grind their teeth together.

I also miss them sticking their hands out of the cage and swiping like the alien when I would bring them a goodie :D

@ NE: You reminded me of Food of the Gods when I read that. that is what we need, some more good stupid giant animal horror flicks, not just straight to sci-fi channel crap.
