Goriest/Most Disturbing Movie Poll

Okay, I looked on the top goriest of HDC, and it's not in order and I want to know what you people think is the goriest movie of all time.

So, I made this poll. I put the movie titles that I think compete for the spot, along with their MPAA Rating and ban factor according to IMDB.

Remember, dont base it on gore right away. Base it overall with all factors included, gore, how disturbing the movie is, and how the gore is presented.

Vote away.

Options are :

Dead Alive (Rated R / Unrated | Heavily Cut Version) (Banned in 3 Countries)

Bad Taste (Rated R / Unrated) (Banned in 2 Countries)

The Evil Dead (Rated X - Adults Only / NC-17 / Unrated | Heavily Cut Version) (Banned in over 6 Countries)

Cannibal Holocaust (Unrated / Rated R | Heavily Cut Version) (Banned in over 12 Countries, previously banned in over 50)

Re-Animator (Rated R / Unrated | Cut Version) (Banned in 3 Countries)

Ichi The Killer (Rated R) (Banned in 2 Countries)

OR

Other

To me goriest and most disturbing are two different things.

Goriest:

Dead Alive

Most disturbing:

Irreversible

exactly what he said. I don't even consider it an opinion, but fact.
Ichi the Killer really needs to stop being mentioned as one of the goriest film ever made, because it doesnt even come close.

fortunato 08-30-2008 12:58 PM

bugh...

these threads are getting old.

momo 08-30-2008 03:12 PM

INSIDE was so gory and messed up LOL !

MisterSadistro 08-31-2008 01:04 PM

The problem is gory and disturbing don't necessarily mean a good movie :D

this is true look at WRONG TURN 2 lol !

Elvis_Christ 09-03-2008 07:02 PM

No Aftermath?

ManchestrMorgue 09-04-2008 02:06 AM

Yeah, Aftermath was both gory and disturbing.

August Underground: Mordum was also gory and disturbing.

There is a problem with judging films on how many countries they are banned in: some very gory/disturbing films won't be submitted for classification in many countries.

Australia is a case in point. No-one in their right mind would submit either Mordum or Aftermath for classification because it would be Refused Classification. However if you tried to import them and customs looked, they would likely seize them and possibly prosecute you.

For sure - very often they are. Dead Alive is definally one of the most gory films ever made but the cartoon style of violence makes is far from disturbing.

jugchord 09-04-2008 06:19 PM

Dead Alive

Dante'sInferno 09-04-2008 06:29 PM

Gigili

Not even joking.

Scared the shit out of me.The acting was horrible.Ben Affleck sucks you in like a blackhole and Jennifer Lopez is annoying as hell.....

No but seriously,Dead Alive for the goriest and Irreversible for the most disturbing

Not in order?

Those 100 have been arranged alphabetically, although you can go ahead and choose any 1 of those for a shot at your thread title.

ferretchucker 09-05-2008 04:28 PM

Goriest is dead alive but most disturbing I thought was The Thing. I just mentioned it in another thread but it deserves it. Great film.

I really have to agree with you there. If you watch the movie closely, it's not even necessarily about gore. Miike's film is more about the deconstruction of man, male sexuality, and purpose/drive.

In regards to most disturbing... I don't really think that "disturbing" has to necessarily do with gore. The two most disturbing films that I have ever seen are Visitor Q and Blue Velvet (they're FANTASTIC films - favorites, actually, but disturbing as all hell).

As for most gory... Dead Alive, Evil Dead, and Evil Dead 2 all revel in gore for the sake of tribute and humor. They're all incredibly successful movies that I don't consider particularly disturbing, but I find really gory.

I gotta agree with you on this. After thousands of blood soaked hours watching the wickedest s*** I can find, the fire extinguisher scene and the rape have to be the most twitch inducing things I've ever seen on film. And they were pretty dragged out scenes, so you really felt like crap after watching them. The rest of the flick- eh, artsy fartsy. Baise Moi didn't have anything on this one.

Devil-Hunter 09-18-2008 02:12 AM

Cannibal holocaust it a very brutal movie but also a great movie the film would be much better without the animal killing but I have the grindhouse realese which lets you block the animal violent out. The most shocking scene in the movie was the final 30 minute of the film.

Necromancer 09-21-2008 01:37 PM

hmm

gore: Braindead

disturbing: Irreversible, Aftermath and recently I've watched Ljilja-4-ever

SinfulEyez 09-22-2008 12:17 AM

I'd have to say for me it is Cannibal Holocaust

bloodwavedvd 09-23-2008 03:38 PM

My vote is for MEN BEHIND THE SUN. It might not be the "goriest" movie although it is quite gory. It has to be the most disturbing movie I've seen (especially cause its a true story)

Here are a couple of scenes. Don't watch if your even the least bit squeamish.

does either of those include the scene with the cat?

trx1 09-28-2008 07:41 PM

nope no such thing

Nella 10-02-2008 07:58 PM

I didn't vote because I didn't know what any of those movies were. I guess I need to quit looking for new releases and just check some of these out.

scarecrow666 10-07-2008 12:34 PM

Goriest possibly Braindead.

Most disturbing maybe Eraserhead or Necromantik......Who knows......

Yes my friend, I agree with you.

Truly a very disturbing film, as it holds some truth. Although no one knows 100% what went on there, I think 100% can agree, that terrible things happened over that period of time and in that place. Unit 731 sends shivers down my spine...

here is a link that tells one side of the story....

I can't handle gory and disturbing movies....

well not of the ones on the list anyway, because none of them fit into both categorys, so I won't be voting.

trx1 10-09-2008 07:21 AM

well, thats 1 film that i WILL NOT watch...

trx1 10-13-2008 09:58 AM

unit 731 takes the win over ALL horror/gore films!!
