Movies you cant get enough of...

Ever loved a movie so much, or got so immersed in it, that you wished there was more which you could watch...when the end credits started rolling?

Even on a re-watch, you felt the same...ever so slightly...that there was some more, even if it was just a bit - even 15-20 mins.

Of course, that feeling drives us to make a beeline for sequels - but most of them turn out to be shitty.

Or in general, you could say, ever wish that there was a decent sequel or follow-up to that movie which you have loved to watch?

I have some in mind...like in the Alien franchise (space jockey, landing on Earth, etc.), or what the GhostBusters guys would have done after pt.2 was over (even though as shitty as it was, compared to the original), etc.

As cheesy as the movie was, the ending of Deep Rising.

(***MAJOR SPOILERS***)

- Nice island.

("ROARRRRRRRRR!!!")

Birds flying away from across the trees. Something big hurtling through the forests towards the beach.

- Now what!?

:D

neverending 08-26-2008 09:50 AM

Hah- I've had this feeling, but I can't think of which movies I was watching then...

Posher778 08-26-2008 10:08 AM

The Mist! It ended amazingly, but I wanted to see more.

alkytrio666 08-26-2008 10:12 AM

The French Connection, Forbidden Planet, and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly come to mind.

newb 08-26-2008 10:12 AM

Posher778 08-26-2008 10:13 AM

Oh, not to mention DEATH PROOF.

Vodstok 08-26-2008 10:37 AM

I had felt this way about Aliens when i was a kid, I worshipped that movie. then one day in i think '90, i was living in germany and AFN played a version at night that had several of the deleted scenes form the Legacy/Quadrilogy collections in it, and i nearly shit myself. popped a tape into the VCR about 20 minutes into the movie and rewatched it until the tape wouldnt play anymore. when the legacy set came out, i was in heaven.

there are many movie sout there like this, which i why i wanted to start writing in the first place, so i could have a world or several wher ei knew the answer ot what happens next.

This makes me even more excited about getting my Astral site online....

Geddy 08-26-2008 10:46 AM

Your first sentance justifies it completely. Shyamalan should quit making movies period, so why not make a sequel he shouldnt make?

Dante'sInferno 08-26-2008 11:30 AM

A Clockwork Orange(I would have loved to have seen what happend to Alex.)

No Country For Old Men(Same with alex, except replace it with Anton.)

and

To Kill A Mockingbird.

ChronoGrl 08-26-2008 06:23 PM

I've watched Deep Blue Sea multiple times. It's ridiculous, unintentionally funny, and overall awesome (plus I have a softspot for sharks). I can't get enough of that film.

Also, there when I was living in China, I watched Lost in Translation multiple times. I really identified with the overall feeling of alienation that Sophia Coppola was portraying.

Garden State is another film that I have watched repeatedly.

illdojo 08-26-2008 07:23 PM

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Goodfellas
The Dark Knight
The Big Lebowski
Halloween

The_Return 08-26-2008 07:28 PM

The Robert Englund version of Phantom of the Opera is a big one. Such a huge tease of an ending, just leaves you salivating for more.

Ferox13 08-26-2008 10:21 PM

Mad MAx 2...

When i saw it first I really didn't want it ot end.

momo 08-27-2008 12:36 AM

Disease? drunk.

Posher778 08-27-2008 07:29 AM

It's obviously.... The Gate

La Chat Noire 08-27-2008 08:46 AM

I agree with ChronoGirl about Garden State. But I would have rewritten the ending. It felt forced and unrealistic.

Also, I wished there was a more conclusive ending to A History of Violence.

momo 08-27-2008 09:11 AM

the evil dead ...seen it 50 times ! :)

The_Return 08-27-2008 09:35 AM

Even though it ends perfectly, I wish Sweeney Todd could have lasted longer. I've heard that there are a few more songs in the original stage version...I really, really need to catch a production of that.

Event Horizon always leaves me wishing that they would have properly showed Hell/wherever-the-fuck the ship went.

Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness could have played up the Great Old Ones angle a little bit.

Anderson did have an extra 15-minutes footage of the visions of Hell where the crew were trapped in an extremely painful orgy. It was deemed too graphic and was cut off from the final product.

Wont pop up in any Director's Cut or Final Cut version either, cuz the cutscenes are presumed lost, shortly after the movie released.

momo 08-27-2008 11:43 AM

INSIDE this film is so gross but i loved it ! :)

bloody_ribcut 08-27-2008 12:10 PM

i like watching planet terror, and up in smoke.

momo 08-27-2008 12:19 PM

oh sorry one more . day of the dead . :)

massacre man 08-27-2008 12:29 PM

The Dark Knight.

I wish it was longer, not just a sequel, I wanted the movie to be longer, that way Heath would still be in it.

BLACULA!!!!

X¤MurderDoll¤X 08-28-2008 01:03 AM

the big lebowski is one

the part where walter gets into the car with "the ringer" bag and the dude asks him what it is and he's like "my dirty undies dude, THE WHITES." I laugh every time he says "the whites", also the part where he rolls out and the gun shoots out the wheel.
