Currently on Comcast On Demand

Those of you who have Comcast On Demand already know that it's mostly crap. However, occassionaly they have some offerngs that are worth checking out.

As Chrono already posted, they are showing a bunch of Asian Extreme films, including Oldboy.

http://www.horror.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35090

Check in the Sundance section

They currently also have some other films worth checking out:

The Devil's Backbone
Beyond Re-Animator
Deathwatch (2002)
Escape From NY

And selections from the 2007 After Dark Horrorfest:
Unearthed
Crazy Eights

I guess they're actually trying to get folks to stay home and watch some movies during the Summer slump.

neverending 09-10-2008 12:48 PM

This month Comcast is featuring Rob Zombie's House of 1,000 Corpses & The Devil's rejects, along with some behind the scenes features.

Elvis_Christ 09-10-2008 06:02 PM

What's comcast? A cable channel over there?

neverending 09-10-2008 06:45 PM

Cable provider.

neverending 09-11-2008 12:19 AM

Polanski's Repulsion is currently available on Fearnet. If you haven't seen it, you must.

ChronoGrl 09-11-2008 08:38 AM

Thanks, NE.

I'm actually quite pleased about the current selection. I really need to check some of those out. Still haven't seen Repulsion.

neverending 09-11-2008 11:48 PM

Deathwatch (2002)

A tale of the supernatural and madness set in a German bunker during WWI.

Check it out!

illdojo 09-12-2008 07:14 AM

Don't have Comcast, but I do have Cox and The Sundance Channel On Demand. I hope they're still showing The Devils Backbone.(I've never seen it.) :o

neverending 09-12-2008 07:23 AM

Devil's Backbone wasn't on Sundance Channel - it was part of Comcast's Fearnet.

Thanks NE....Cox has Fearnet On Demand but not the channel....I'll check for it later.

neverending 09-12-2008 08:06 AM

Oh that's interesting. They completely make it sound like Fearnet is their own creation.

newb 09-12-2008 08:09 AM

Comcast is the provider...Fearnet and Sundance are seperate channels.

both on COX ON DEMAND.....In the freezone:D

Yah, I'm aware of the difference between channels & providers.

What I'm saying is I always thought Fearnet was a Comcast exclusive- they make it sound that way in all their promotion.

illdojo 09-12-2008 09:03 AM

Oh man......

Just trying to clear up any misconceptions.

urgeok2 09-12-2008 09:22 AM

i know most people think its a huge waste of money ..

but the beauty of owning most of these movies is that - i always have them on demand .. 24/7

AmericanManiac 09-17-2008 01:36 PM

I just watched the 30 days dust to dust, it actually drew me in very interesting. I liked how they showed the "emotion" on the characters realization of the "outbreak".
Also I just started "Are you scared" It's a Saw rip of major and its about to get the stop button.

neverending 10-03-2008 11:59 PM

Midnight Meat Train is currently available on FearNet.

I was a bit disappointed but I think most others will enjoy it.

neverending 10-16-2008 09:19 PM

Lots of very interesting stuff on demand lately.

David Cronenberg's Spider
Right at Your Door
Subject 2
Vincent Price in Diary of a Madman

I can recommend all these.

The Flayed One 10-16-2008 09:57 PM

Just out of curiosity, has anyone else watched the little 2min Halloween how-tos? A lot of them are lame, but the shrunken head apples were pretty cool.

neverending 10-16-2008 10:13 PM

What section is that in?

David Cronenberg's Spider

loved that.

I have to agree. One of my fave Cronenberg films now. I was really impressed. Ralph Fiennes helped a lot. Amazing performance. But it was the details that really made the film. Cronenberg at his best.

I agree with you and Mothman... Spider is absolute brilliance and a surprisingly underrated Cronenberg film. I was actually lucky enough to catch that one in the theaters.

...

The other three I'll have to check out... Are these in the Fearnet section, NE? Or the Sundance section? Or somewhere else? (I was in the Fearnet section last night and either missed them or didn't see them).

neverending 10-18-2008 06:58 AM

Diary of a Madman is in Fearnet. The others are in Sundance.

Dahlia 10-18-2008 09:58 AM

Anyone seen Clive Barker's "Midnight Meat Train" on "On Demand" yet? I thought it was pretty good. But then, I love Clive Barker.

neverending 10-18-2008 10:04 AM

Yep- reviewed it this thread I believe, and last seen movie thread.

I thought it was predictable with the main characters being barely drawn at all. Obviously made for those whose only criterion for a horror movie is gory death scenes.

Awesome, thanks - I must have missed it.

...

Meat Train was ok... As NE said, it was predictable, but I came in with low expectations so it delivered nicely with some pretty gory parts. It's worth a peek. Hey - Can't go wrong with free.

Fiennes was definetly at his best, great atmoshpere, great ending, I've yet to come across a Cronenberg film that i dislike, however there's many I havn't seen. I'm a little embarrassed to say i havn't seen The Brood yet.:o

The title of this thread is CURRENTLY ON COMCAST ON DEMAND. It's for discussion of what's currently available to view on Comcast's on Demand channels., not where you can steal random movies.

neverending 10-26-2008 06:41 AM

I mentioned this in several other threads but I might as well say it here too:

Miike's ZEBRAMAN.

Watch it! Sundance section.

Uhhh I don't have Comcast but I pretty much have the same selection that you guys have for movies. I've got Time Warner myself. Fearnet is probably my favorite on demand feature of it, next to the music videos. WHich surprisingly has some pretty decent metal on it.

I will just take this off my netflix queue then:)

Now, I cross my fingers for the damn box not to shut me out this week

novakru 11-04-2008 10:26 AM

I was trying the watch The Eye2 on Fearnet.... it shows 3 minutes and then goes to menu, I tried restarting the movie 5x and no change. I got up to the first scene after the title appears, then gave up.
Anyone else have any trouble ?
This is not the first time it has happened and sometimes I cannot access movies at all without shutting the entire system down and restarting.

Any movies this month that's recommended BTW?>
