Ever get "insanely pissed" when playing a video game?
 

Usually I can keep my head, but when I play Mario Kart Wii online.....I can lose my fucking mind!!!!!
I've thrown the wheel more than once.

Anyone else have this problem when playing any other games?

not since i was younger, I am way more mellow about games now (now, when i am tired and accidentally walk into the edge of an open door, i fucking lose it).

But i remember vividly a bad day at work when i was a helpdesk guy, playing the original ut, and i couldnt hit the broad side of a barn, and the bots were handing my ass to me. I got so worked up, my roommate walked into my room and suggested i take a break. I was usually the "calm guy", but i was freaking the fuck out over every little thing.

If i recall, a few beers and cigarrettes later, i was back to mr mellow.

Ok. So I've mentioned it before. I'm a pussy. AND I just picked up Condemned: Criminal Origins.

WELL, I just beat Chapter One (after a bit of screaming, cowering, and sweaty palms grasping my XBox360 controller)... And I put the controller down to do a little HDCing...........

When alluva sudden the stupid cat divebombs the controller and hits the button to "RESTART CHAPTER."

All the time.When I'm playing a shooter online and the other team is tearing me up I get really pissed.Or if I'm having alot of trouble passing a level.I've broken many controllers over the years.

Playing Dead Or Alive 4 gets me pissed off. Luckily, I've almost finished it.

Unreal Tournament III on Insane, really gets under my skin.

I used to freak out at a friend of mine when we would play mortal kombat 2 and 3. he would use the same move over and over and over and over...

It was effective, but fucking annoying. He would then have the nerve to give me shit when i would just duck in the corner and punch up. Payback's a bitch.

In MK3, with the character Kabal, i worked out a combo where i would kick, flying kick and shoot so rapidly, that if i got in one hit and could start the combo, there was no way out, because you were dead before you hit the ground. that was great vindication.

One of my friends used to do the one move thing with Kung Lao. I figured out something with Scorpion, and he got pissed off because I would do it over and over, like he was doing. They can dish it, but they can't take it.

there are a ton of things that piss me off. trying over and over to nail something in a Tony Hawk Pro Skater game gets under my skin, I got pretty pissed playing Need For Speed underground for a while. I didn't want to lose money, so every time the cops busted me, i would immediately shut the console off and start again so there was no penalty, I had to do this dozens of times and it got extremely annoying. couch punching ensued.

you honestly think its that scary? play doom 3, you'll shit your pants.

I thought DOOM 3 was rather boring...I didn't think it was anywhere near as scary as Condemned.

yeah - Metroid Prime for the Wii ... the stupid gun kept freezing in one spot while i was getting the shit kicked out of me.

i guess i dont get so much ballistic when things go wrong or i'm screwing up on a hard spot - i just go 'fuck this' and turn it off ...
and usually i wont ever play it again. (i dont have a lot of time or patience to spend when things are going well .. i have ZERO when things are going poorly)

Pretty much all the time i have the slightest trouble yes. :o

Right now I'm super pissed.

I just changed from cable internet to dsl, another company obviously. Now I can't get my xbox live to *&%R^&^*ing connect. I've spent hours dicking with this and fear I may soon murder the face off of my router and dropkick my 360 in the balls.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Power cycle the modem, or, do a barrel roll.

I get pissed off with games...especially these days where I try to focus only on playing through one game at a time even when I have more than one, because I KNOW there's other stuff I could be playing but I'm here being pissed off at this one just because I want to finish it...so I'll usually try a level/stage about three times and that'll be the point of frustration I let it go to - generally when I start to get pissed off like that, before it builds up too much I'll just turn it off.
I'll retry it later, usually meeting success...if not, I'll try the same process a total of about 3 times, then actually abandon a game.
I have not abandoned many games at all in the past though...but some have made the list.

enter in your IP adress and all that stuff manually under network settings usually works for me.

Or try a wired configuration if you're on wireless...still to this day the shit is notoriously troublesome.

Yeah what they said about manually entering in your IP and all those other number.number.number type things in the internet settings occasionally works.
Had the same deal happen to a lot of people on the Playstation network too, where even a wired configuration would inexplicably "forget" its associations and just not work.
The power cycle thing sometimes kicks it in the ass too.
Though if you've changed your actual internet type...is that a setting you can indicate too?

All I can really suggest for now is completely power cycle the modem, then go through your internet settings from scratch, entering in as much information manually as you're able...your ISP should be able to provide you with the relevant details.

I have no clue what a "power cycle" is and the dicks at at&t want to charge me 50 bucks for tech support.....:mad:

Like, just completely power down your modem and unplug EVERYTHING including the power cord from it.
Leave it for a few minutes, and then plug it all back in again.
That's a power cycle.
As I said sometimes it's effective.
But yeah it looks like you're gonna be stuck entering in all your IP shit too, if that doesn't work.

Nah, it was known as something that fixed shit like this so I thought I'd give it a shot, glad it worked out.

Oh yes! I´ve always gone crazy with some particular games,
I remember back in the day I almost broke my tv, it did black out and make weird noises for a few days, after I started kicking it hard when playing Tekken 3.
