I did notice that thread, heh. But I thought the gameplay trailer deserved a thread of its own, just for being so kickass and cool! :cool:

It did, and while I'm psyched for this game I'm hoping it lives up to expectations. The gameplay trailer was sick though...

I read about this game a little on Gamespot. it looks pretty sweet!

It's not out until the 14th. And, BOY I can't friggin wait.

Though I'm not sure I can afford the $60 right now.

The link that V posted is better than the other trailers that I've seen for it, I'm even MORE excited than I have been.

Anyone else - Dead Space thoughts?

I admit, I was more excited about this earlier on then I am now. Not being a tremondous fan of survival horror genre as a whole. When it started out it was much more focused on avoiding and trapping spookies rather then using super heated bullets to gradually tear them to bits. It's fallen a bit towards the latter though.

It's hard to argue with the really stellar visual presentation though, everything looks just as one would want a Sci-Fi haunted house game to look. I think as long as I am forced to murder a zombie version of my love interest in game, it should deliver.

It got pretty good praise from the big boys of Video Game media. Its a big time of year for games at the moment, I have three sitting in my draw that have barely been touched... it'll be a bit even after it comes out before I can give it the attention it deserves.

There's alot of info out there about how great it is, but I wanted to see if anyone here has an opinion- I could trust that, you know?

It looks like a souped up Doom 3. Not that that is a bad thing... i have yet to complete Doom 3, mostly because even with cheats it raises my blood pressure beyond comfortable limits.

I bought this yesterday but haven't opened it up casue I've been busy playing Saints Row 2 but as soon and I get a chance I'll get back to you guys with a minor review with lots of poor grammar.

Went to Gamestop
Saw this game with about 500 copies
I just assumed it there would be a Wii version, even though it's not listed on the deadspace site
Looked on-line and saw nothing about it ever going to be compatible with Wii.
I am not a gamer, I play every now and then, whatevers laying around if I have the time.
I thought that if a game burns up on PS2 or xbox, it gets distributed to the other gaming systems within a few months?

I don't understand understand much of the way games come out, so please bear with me.

Really awesome experience.

Plotline and premise is very similar to Event Horizon, and the gameplay is very, very cool. The background score adds to the intense atmosphere, which is full of scary "jump" moments. A fitting addition to the survival-horror genre. The only thing to gripe about - levels are a bit repetitive. But there are some really cool (and gorific!) ways of killing creatures...you ll see.

Highly recommended.

Not sure if I should pick up Dead Space of BioShock for my bf for x-mas. Has anyone played both? I think BioShock will probably win because he likes the 1940s feel of Rapture. Gameplay and plotwise which is better?

Bioshock, hands down.

A very very small surprise... in fact if the game had telegraphed it any harder i'd have gotten a concussion :p.

Just bought this today. Only played for a few minutes, but i'm liking it. I prefer first person shooters, and I thought this was one, but I got over the skepticism and was entranced by the soundtrack and battle capabilities. Having a little trouble adapting from FPS to TPS though.
