So, just one for the over 18's here, and if you're under 18 and you've stumbled in, well...leave, or don't blame me.

I toke up occasionally. See, aside from the occasional drinking night with friends I seldom have any alcohol - I just prefer the effects of lighting one up to drinking. Each to their own and I'm not about to convince anyone otherwise.

So, those that indulge have probably heard you can vaporize the stuff too to make the overall experience better for you, in both terms of health and (according to some, myself included) effect.
Long story short, higher thc content remains unburned but airborne, particles of vapour which are more quickly absorbed into the blood vessels in your lungs.
Nothing gets burned, no carcinogenic/tarry substances.
This is why it's something I recommend.

I've got a cheap vaporizer, which has great effect but is essentially not a great unit, too much raw heat burns/smoulders the substance a little too much for purpose - defeats the purpose after a couple minutes really, but it did teach me one thing. Vaporization works.
I'd wondered, and doubted but yep, it works. Works pretty damn well in my opinion, most of the effects lasting much longer than burning it.
So, I'm convinced - have been for some time.

Sooo, pretty shortly I'm about to invest in a better unit, and...my choice is down to 2 of 'em.
Price isn't a big thing, as I consider it a worthy investment to my better health.
Both of the following look pretty sweet, and of fairly high quality...
So, just wanted opinions.
Or, if anyones tried either of these models, let me know.

I used the Volcano (my neighbors have one) and it's cool, but the bags are kind of a pain in the ass.

The Kia will certainly impress people when you pull it out. Having a big metal box with a space dildo mouth piece seems wonderfully unecessary. It looks like something Q created back in the THUNDERBALL-era Bond movies.

Go for the Volcano, I've used the one with the digital tempurature controls and its really easy to use. I think that its generally the best one on the market.

And you're right, the high is so much better off of a vaporizer.

Amen to that. I'd rather smoke than drink. No hangovers. Plus, when your drunk you don't think up those crazy pothead foods that are hella good. Like my favorite, rice crispies, fluff, chocolate chips, and dried coconut. Mix everything but the chocolate chips in a bowl, microwave it until it puffs up, then mix in the chocolate chips. Spread it out on some wax paper and put it in the freezer for 5 to ten minutes. then cut and eat them. its about 1cup rice crispies to 2/3 cup of fluff. so basicly a 4:3 ratio. the coconut and chocolate chips I guess you don't need, but it makes them so much better...


God I need to stop posting in here when I'm high with the munchies.

That actually helped make my decision...I hadn't read as much into it, but I'd much rather be able to asjust the temperature accordingly - not all weed is the same density/consistency...guess it's the volcano.

prudishness aside, i hate pot. the smell makes me sick and i was not impressed with the effects.

But I dont judge; given the opportunity, i will drink like a fish. I have several types of spirit i love. Beer (good beer), good wine, tequila, vodka, whiskey, scotch. For the most part, I dont really drink things that i cannot stand by itself.

I dont drink much though, both because i cant afford it (paychecks arent as consistent as they should be) and if i am in a drinking mood, i will consume whatever shit we have in the house, even straight midori, which is too fucking sweet for me.

not saying im an alchoholic, but the potential is there.

The smell thing is a bad attribute (personally though I don't find it half as bad as cigarettes) that vaporization removes.
Effects wise, I guess it's each to their own...alcohol has seen me at my worst.

i wouldnt smoke either ... the idea of forcing smoke into my lungs repels me ..but i have to admit i dont mind the smell of pot.

I used to smoke all the time but it just got too retarded for me. I would get bad highs more often then not and I just hated that feeling.

personally i think the hobby is far too expensive.

I'd say that for the anxiety/stress release aspects of the drug, it's a value at twice the price.

thing is, it doesnt do that for me.
yeah, its fun, but weed tends to intesify things. taste, touch, and for me, emotions. if im stessing aobut something and i smoke a little, then im really stressing about something.

I certainly wouldn't do it in your shoes either, that sounds like the exact opposite of the reason I enjoy it. I'm lucky (?) I guess in that the drug really helps me peel away the bullshit glad-handing bullsit I face daily in my life and helps me simply relaaaaaaax.

I used to smoke a ton, I won't fault you for that. I LOVED my smoke breaks, but once I hit my 30s I realized it was seriously affecting my health.

cigarettes are cool and I love that about them

I just can't do it anymore.

But I'm not here to encourage anyone to smoke weed or cigarettes or drink or anything. But I do feel a person should be allowed to meet the devil in the manner of their choosing.

You should totally go and talk to kids about the dangers of smoking.

I dunno...I mean aside from myself (I've got an arrangement where...well I'll just say I don't really pay for it anymore) I've known both pot smokers and smokers, and aside from the real potheads, I would say it's a less expensive habit.
I personally would NEVER smoke through as much green as an average smoker pays on their "legal" habit per week.
It is a valid point you've got there though, weighing in at more $ per gram than gold and all...aside from the obvious health aspects of the vaporizers I'm considering, supposedly you only end up using about a third of your average for a better/longer effect. (Further research will be done to prove/disprove this)

Well, you know..."research" into safer and healthier ways to ingest a recreational drug. Better health, better effects, more cost effective usage, smell alleviation, less after-effects.
I feel as though this research, and spreading the word is a service to the culture, and gives the "weed = evil" crowd less to bitch about, or well, even LESS of a leg to stand on...and hells yeah I'm getting high doing it...

So either way I've decided on the volcano - just the classic one with the dial, seems like an extra $150 or so on th enicer looking "digital" model might give you more convenient use, but, it's really just another component that might fuck up - wouldn't want that.
