romance(?) is weird

ok - so i was out with some friends on the west coast last night. we were all hanging out at a bar with some other friends of theirs and as the night went on it ended up being just me and this girl. we talked and talked until we closed the bar - we were sitting right next to each other and we were really talking about pretty personal stuff.

so - - - as we're leaving she says 'it was nice talking to you' - then turns and heads off to her car and leaves. i have to admit i thought things were getting interesting and that there was something going on - but then she just left.

so - maybe its just me who's weird

Elvis_Christ 05-26-2008 06:28 PM

Maybe she wants to get to know you better first?

newb 05-26-2008 06:29 PM

Perhaps a second encounter will produce better results.

Zero 05-26-2008 06:32 PM

yeah - you guys are right. i just wanted to vent (i can't really say anything to the friends i'm staying with because it would make things weird)

missmacabre 05-26-2008 06:34 PM

as a girl i can say that there is probably something there. i only talk about personal stuff to people i feel i can trust. Just give it a little more time.

Zero 05-26-2008 06:39 PM

thanks mm - i think a female perspective is what i need (well - and other 'female things' - but that's what gets me into these problems in the first place)

Do you talk to her often or do you know her or whatever? Because you obviously need to make sure you have a way to get ahold of her to see eachother again....

Psycom5k 05-26-2008 09:37 PM

What you need to do is get her really really drunk, but not so drunk that shes comatose..... then its magic time!

Actually don't listen to that, just don't act like all you want is to get in her pants, that normally doesn't work, it just makes you look like a douche. But don't worry, be yourself, your a smart witty guy. Just be confident, let her know your interested, and just go with the flow. By the way, don't stare at her boobs, nod, and say "Uhuh" when she talks to you. FOr some odd reason they don't like that.

Welcome to the friendzone....

Have fun shoe shopping with her..

Disease 05-26-2008 11:22 PM

I can't believe you didn't close the deal.

ferretchucker 05-27-2008 03:15 AM

How far can she throw faeces? If it's far, she's for you, if not, let her go.

That's where you tell her it'd be much nicer with your dick in her mouth.
Treat 'em mean, keeps 'em keen.

He has a point, for some reason most females are attracted to assholes.

that's actually mostly true. Not gonna lie.

Take it for what it was. A solid, intimate conversation is a great way to spend an evening. If you enjoyed it, do it again.

Call her up and invite her to do something mildly physical with you... nothing like a little persiration to ge the pheramones flying - and I do mean a little, glistening is lovely - dripping isn't:D

Doc Faustus 05-27-2008 08:48 AM

There is nothing wrong with friendship as a jumpoff point. Too many people date people they barely even like as human beings. Of course, it might be fun having sex with someone you barely even like, but you could be having sex later with somebody you do like who you can actually do non sexual things with. Boyfriends screw in cabinets too. If they don't, they get screamed at. If you do, you get the girl thinking. There will be some near misses, but in the end, you sink the battleship, you get to play again and you're with somebody who you can actually stand. Everything another man can do that the last asshole someone dated can't is sexy.

That's how I feel, too... Personally, when I find someone that I'm interested in and make a connection with, I generally cherish the conversation (as cheesy as it sounds) and try not to rush things (I'm always worried that I'll like them more than they like me)... She probably didn't want to cross any lines by asking for your number just as you didn't want to cross any by asking for hers (though you should have asked for it :p ).

Then again, it depends on the situation... I'm not sure how much of an acquaintance she is of your friends or how close you are to those friends... Do you have her number? Give her a call!

Did you make any hint whatsoever that you were into her ? If you didn't, she probably thinks you don't like her in that way and didn't want to look like a dork.

However if you did, and she didn't respond to the advances, she's just not that into you. Harsh, but true. Women aren't THAT hard, people.

ahh yes - familiar territory my friend - very familiar territory - - next i'll be getting 2am calls about her boyfriend troubles

Zero 05-27-2008 06:48 PM

and - for the record - i was not thinking i would sleep with her - just that it felt like things were progressing to some kind of next level and then just stopped.

but we'll see. . .

crabapple 05-27-2008 06:54 PM

Just one thing--if you ask her, "Hey, uh, do you mind if I screw in your cabinet?" and she slaps you? Then, you know she has a dirty mind.
