Scare-te-Gories?
I've been enjoying the games on the forum so much that I decided I wanted to do one, too.
If enough people want to play, we can make this work. Anyone who's on can play. Points will carry over for each person, for each round they play in. Those who play most often, will likely accrue the most points. This is based on the game 'Scattergories', but it will be horror-based. It's a very simple game. These are the official rules for Scattergories, but I have changed them slightly to suit horror-based forum play: The objective of the game is to score points by uniquely naming movies or objects within a set of categories, given an initial letter. Gameplay Each 'challenge' has 12 categories. The letter that the answers can start with will be determined by alphabetical order. Each player must attempt to think of and write down a word, term or horror movie title that fits each of the 12 categories and starts with the chosen letter. Send them to me in a PM, and don't tell anyone what you have submitted until after all of the entries have been tallied. Any number of words in the answer is allowed, as long as the first word starts with the correct letter (Articles 'A', 'An' and 'The' are to be ignored). For example, with a category of "Slasher" and a letter of "S", titles such as "Scream", "The Secretary" and "Sleepaway Camp" are acceptable, but "Nightmare On Elm Street" is not (wrong initial letter), nor is "Silence Of The Lambs" (wrong category). Alliteration (using the chosen letter more than once) is encouraged; Scarecrow Slayer is worth 2 points. Players score zero points for an answer that duplicates another answer in that round, and one point for an answer no other player has given. Acceptable answers using alliteration score one point for each word using the letter. For example, in the "S-Slasher" example, if players A, B, and C answered "Scream", "Scream", and "Slash" , respectively, players A and B would score nothing, and C would score 1 point. If for some reason a player thinks someone's answer does not fit the category (for instance, "Serial Mom" for the category "Slasher") a player may challenge that answer. When challenged, all players vote on the validity of that answer. If the vote is a tie, the player's vote who is being challenged is thrown out. So...If anyone wants to do this, I'll create the first list. |
I'll give it a go, sounds fun.
|

(waiting impatiently for Newb's and Urge's nods) |

This set will be played out for all letters until someone reaches 100 points.
All answers in this first round must start with the letter 'A' 1) Weapon 2) Killer (can be a name or noun ie: 'Jason', 'mummy', etcetera) 3) Horror/Comedy 4) 80's Horror 5) Type of death (Strangulation, Evisceration, etcetera) 6) Horror movie Actor/Actress 7) Best hiding place for the killer to wait for a victim 8) Best hiding place for a victim to elude a killer 9) Revenge movie 10) Movie based on the supernatural 11) Movie based on insanity 12) Horror movie where a child is (or children are) a major factor Each round only lasts an hour, or until 10 entries are received...These are supposed to go kinda fast. I'll list names and points for each round before the next one starts. |

Hammerfan has quite a few unique answers :)
That's the goal, because if someone else has the same answer as you, those answers don't count. |

You never know either Urge, if everybody was trying to be clever or unique the obivious answers may not have been used. :)

I want to remind everyone about ignoring the articles 'A', 'An', and 'The' also...Like 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' wouldn't count for 'A', but 'The Awakening' would |

You said just one answer per question right? So we can't list seventeen weapons beginning with A and get seventeen points.
|
Shit.... I gave a lot of basic answers too.
