The 7 Deadly Sins and You
 

Which of the 7 do you commit the most? Or which is your favorite? Are you a greedy gal who wants as much as she can get or just a sloth who sits around all day playing his videogames? Are you full of anger and rage? Are you a glutton who consumes all the beer he can and then some? Maybe it's lust... I'd say anger is the number one for me, if for no other reason than my highschool years when I would fly off the handle every other day. I'm also pretty prideful though, it's a toss up.

I'd say envy

probably lust. i love women. always have

if you saw all my shit you'd think greed i suppose.. but i dont feel greedy .. i like stuff, i have a job to earn money - so i buy the stuff i like.

anger - not really
sloth - not a chance
envy - never
pride - maybe a little
gluttony - i believe thats under control

Wrath. Easily.

Don't even have to think about that one...It's pretty constant...I blame Dustin, he's too damned sexy.

Greed - Not me at all...As long as I have enough to feed and house my kids and have fun with them, I don't need anything else that money can buy...Yes, I LOVE my horror movies, that's honestly my only materialistic leaning.

Sloth - Too much energy

Gluttony - I eat once a day (unless I have some ice-cream or something), and when I do, I make sure I get plenty full...But, I don't sit and stuff myself all the time.

Anger - Only the usual...But, it takes a while to get me there...If someone is able push ME far enough to make me truly 'angry', they deserve what they get because they worked hard for it ;)

Envy - No one has anything that I want, that I don't already have :)

Pride - The normal stuff...Proud of my kids...Proud of myself when I do something without screwing it up :D

you need to eat small amounts through the day to stimulate your mentabalism.

doing what you're doing now is very unhealthy - your body thinks its fasting so it stores fat.

I'm going to be honest here: Greed and Lust.

Those are probably the two most fun ones out of the bunch anyway. :D

Lust-10 - porn is my friend...eh, no it's not, yes it is...no - it's - not :o

Greed - 5 (I want more!...I'm obsessive, what can I say. Some people call this being an "over achiever" ;)

Sloth - 2 (I'm always on the go but my wife will be the first to let you know that I could be doing more.) :rolleyes:

Gluttony - 6 (I try my best to keep a handle on this one, but being a clean alcohol/drug addict, it's about the only vice I have left!):p

Anger - 7 (road rage - I know how MR. Hulk feels sometimes)

Envy - 2 (I'm too busy to waste my time wanting what you got)

Pride - ? (I say this not because I don't understand the sinful quality of pride, but because I don't know how many times it's responsible for whatever bad stuff that results):confused: a little.

Envy and greed. I want the best but I always see someone else as having better. Kinda sums it up.

Boobs.... I mean lust. And what does being a pothead fall under? Is it sloth or gluttony? Maybe a little of both?

CHRONO'S SINS (in order of indulgence):

• Wrath - I have anger issues. I do. And I'm medicated. It's gotten better, but at times it definitely gets out of control.
• Pride - A lot of anger, wrath, comes from self-pride, even if it's irrational.
• LUST - What can I say? My man just doesn't give it to often enough. :(
• Sloth - Side effect of what I hope is just a depressive cycle... I've been having a difficult time motivating myself and just... caring.
• Gluttony - Goes with the above. When I'm depressed, stressed, and down, I over-indulge myself (drinking, eating). I need to control it, but when you're feeling off, sometimes you need need comfort. HELL, I'm drinking right now!
• Greed - Tied hand and hand with Lust and Gluttony.
• Envy - The only issues I have with envy are professional envy. With my promotion came a lot of pressure, and it's difficult and slightly frustrating that the other members of my team are more seasoned professionals, so I get a little jealous of their progress at work, but nothing that's really show-stopping.

I consider over-indulgence to be Gluttony. At least that's how I identify with being a wine-o. haha

Lust, Anger, Pride and Greed are all tied for first

I'd say Lust, followed by Wrath, then Gluttony. Pride rears its ugly head only when people try to put down my accomplishments.

So you don't get mad at THINGS? I always find myself angry, I don't even know why sometimes. For example, back in the day I would reach behind the tv to screw in the coax cable but after three or four tries with the damn threads matched up it wouldn't go on. I would get a little angry, and then hot, and then I'd start to sweat and just rip the tv down lay it on the screen and screw that bastard cable in with purpose! I just... get angry. Greed when it comes to stuff but not money, I just wish I owned everything. Not big stuff either like cars and boats but little stuff, weird stuff.

I'm just an angry person aswell. You might be talking to me and not know it, but I'm probably angry.

i think i'd know it i i were talking to you or not.

For me, definitely sloth. I think all the so-called "sins" are fine in moderation, and actually quite healthy - but sloth is the most harmless when taken to an extreme.

Oh.... by the way, some of you seem to think that gluttony falls under just over eating food, or at least it seams so, but its actually over-indulgence in general, taking more than you need, hording, stuff like that. And shouldn't it be wrath and not anger? And I think wrath is not getting angry, but letting that anger take ahold of you and do things that you normally wouldn't, like say kill somebody.

"More than other sins, the definition of sloth has changed considerably since its original inclusion among the seven deadly sins. In fact it was first called the sin of sadness or despair. It had been in the early years of Christianity characterized by what modern writers would now describe as melancholy: apathy, depression, and joylessness — the last being viewed as being a refusal to enjoy the goodness of God and the world he created. Originally, its place was fulfilled by two other aspects, acedia and sadness. The former described a spiritual apathy that affected the faithful by discouraging them from their religious work. Sadness (tristitia in Latin) described a feeling of dissatisfaction or discontent, which caused unhappiness with one's current situation. When Thomas Aquinas selected acedia for his list, he described it as an "uneasiness of the mind", being a progenitor for lesser sins such as restlessness and instability. Dante refined this definition further, describing sloth as being the "failure to love God with all one's heart, all one's mind and all one's soul." He also described it as the middle sin, and as such was the only sin characterised by an absence or insufficiency of love. In his "Purgatorio", the slothful penitents were made to run continuously at top speed.

The modern view of the vice, as highlighted by its contrary virtue of zeal or diligence, is that it represents the failure to utilize one's talents and gifts. For example, a student who does not work beyond what is required (and thus fails to achieve his or her full potential) could be labeled slothful.

Current interpretations are therefore much less stringent and comprehensive than they were in medieval times, and portray sloth as being more simply a sin of laziness or indifference, of an unwillingness to act, an unwillingness to care (rather than a failure to love God and his works). For this reason sloth is now often seen as being considerably less serious than the other sins, more a sin of omission than of commission. The South American animal was named after this sin by Roman Catholic explorers."

That's kind of ironic, since people in those times would probably have enjoyed the world a lot more if they weren't told to suppress their harmless, natural urges because they're 'sinful'! :)

Greed-only because i want my kids with me all the time,no shared custody
Envy-i want the "good" life everyone else seems to be living

I'd say I have them all except pride.

I probly use wrath and lust more than any.

What does revenge fall under?Cause i'm wanting some of that too.
