What Characters do the HDC People Remind You of ?

ok - so it's a hat-trick.

but its like a complete set now.

Either through their words, or their pictures - or a combination of both - what characters in films do the HDC folk remind you of ?

for me (so far)

- Newb : Dennis Hopper in Easy Rider
- Despare - James Spader in Jack's Back
- Ferretchucker - the paper delivery boy in Better Off Dead
- Rayne (mama firefly - karen black version)
- Chronogirl - claire danes in Stardust
- murderdoll - thorna birch - ghostworld
- neverending - wolfman jack - american grafitti

probably more to come as they hit me.

Posher778 05-13-2008 01:50 PM

Rayne- ...Bloodrayne.
Murderdoll- Emily (Blunt) in the Devil Wears Prada
Roderick Usher- El Mariachi
Newb- Beetlejuice
Crabapple- Ford Prefect in The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy

Doc Faustus 05-13-2008 02:31 PM

YOUR screen name was in a dream that I had the other night... It was the name of a production company. Illdojo Production and you were the owner.

Based on the recollection of this dream, I've decided that illdojo is the mysterious call that the director gets in Mulholland Drive.

illdojo - You're a mysterious David Lynch presence.

Thanks Chrono, that's quite a compliment.......You are Sally Hardesty from Texas Chainsaw Massacre because you seem like a bad ass sole survivor chick from a horror film. ;)

massacre man 05-13-2008 03:48 PM

I picture Illdojo as The Dude.

Now that's very cool. I used to listen to Wolfman Jack on my little transistor radio when I was young, late at night. He was inspirational. He really loved the music and he had a gift for communicating to people. Radio was quite different back then. There really isn't anyone around like him these days.

Phalanx- Severus Snape

I'm flattered :)

Big difference between me and him is that i know how to pronounce "gigawatts". that and the hair. and the genius thing.

I do have a young friend who travels time, though.

Ha, maybe? memory must've sized em up about the same.

Doc Faustus 05-13-2008 04:38 PM

Chronogrl reminds me of Joey Lauren Adams in Chasing Amy. Everything but the lesbian part and the sordid sexual past. Neverending reminds me of the Old Anarchist in Richard Linklater's Slacker. Whenever I picture Zwoti, for some reason I think of Robert Shaw in Jaws. Rod reminds me of William Holden in Sunset Boulevard, not for any particular reason but his Hollywood connections. Murderdoll reminds me of Alicia Witt in Fun, but in a good way.

Disease 05-13-2008 04:41 PM

Pyscom5 reminds me of "Booger"

Hey, I call 'em like I dream 'em. And in my dream I still couldn't pronounce your screen name. ;)

And, thanks, I'd like to think of myself as the survivor.

Vodstok - Inigo Montoya (The Princess Bride)
Disease - I've decided that you're more like Banky Edwards (Jason Lee's character in Chasing Amy)
Urge - I've decided that you're more like Shaun (Shaun of the Dead). Definitely.
Gore the Red - You would be the Nick Frost to anyone's Simon Pegg (be it Ed in Shaun of the Dead or PC Danny Butterman in Hot Fuzz), the steadfast, kickass, cute, funny Buddy.

Good call all of those (especially me as Selene of course :p).

I'm still trying to think up someone for you, Dante... Any movies with NIN-obsessed fanbly characters out there? ;)

A lot of my friends likened me to her in high school when I dated my first girlfriend... Hey - Chrono likes her the ladies on occasion. And no need to omit the sordid sexual past. ;)

I think it suits you more. For you, I needed someone who was angry, bitter, yet still somehow charming... And you're not at your mid-life crisis... yet. :p

To add it to the appropriate thread...

I think that Posher might be well-suited as Harold (Harold and Maude)

Posher778 05-13-2008 05:12 PM

The Return- Davy Jones in Dead Man's Chest

Disease 05-13-2008 05:15 PM
