Do you post on HDC @ work?

I know I do.... I just tell my kitchen I'm busy with inventory or orders.

So.... do you post while @ work?

urgeok2 05-07-2008 06:44 AM

mostly the only place i post from.

i dont take breaks or lunch so it helps break up my day.

if i havent posted - it means i'm busy as hell.

as a matter of fact i had such a high postcount the 1st time around because at my old job i had very little to do all day.

i started telling people (joking) that i was a professional writer :)

i rarely post at night or on weekends

bloody_ribcut 05-07-2008 06:57 AM

Dude Guadalupe 05-07-2008 09:22 AM

I do. Business hasn't picked up for the season yet so I have plenty of post time.

I really do write at work, I put it all down in MS Word and email it to myself so I can work on it at home.

I just finished a short story yesterday actually.

Papillon Noir 05-07-2008 09:39 AM

I post while I'm at work all the time. My job isn't that hard and I really don't have that much work. Though, I'm really good at looking busy. :D

Also, I don't have internet at home. I can't justify paying for it when I can just use it at work.

GorePhobia 05-07-2008 10:26 AM

I never had a job where I could get online so that is a negative.

But I am not working right now so who cares!

Freak 05-07-2008 01:10 PM

I have a job but it doesn't allow me to post at work. There isn't even a computer near me with the internet.

Phalanx 05-07-2008 03:15 PM

Not really.
Sometimes I check in throughout work, that's about it.
I've actually got to moderate another, slightly bigger forum as part of my job too, so kind've eats up the empty time.

Zero 05-07-2008 03:53 PM

all the time - i'm always popping the HDC screen up and down - though last week somebody said 'what's that your doing' so i'm trying to be a bit more discrete

neverending 05-07-2008 04:01 PM

Monkey at work trying to be discrete

I didnt always work from home, and hdc got me in trouble at one place (got it blocked ;))

I never caught any shit for it, but hdc is blocked at fidelity investment's merrimac nh office, thanks to me :) pretty sure i am the only regular visitor from thsi state...

missmacabre 05-07-2008 04:42 PM

I would if I could. We have monitors for taking orders and an internet connection for debit and stuff. So technically I could hack it or something...as if...

Elvis_Christ 05-07-2008 05:05 PM

Nope. The place would turn to chaos if I was sitting about on HDC :D

What was that saying about kids being like the ocean? Turn your back blah, blah...

Yep, same situation here.

I actually dont think it'd be too hard to get on from the registers at work, but the bosses would FLIP, so I've never tried. Maybe the next time I'm working an overnight...

It's blocked at school, which I've always found amusing. I found a way around it once, but they caught on pretty quick.

Elvis_Christ 05-07-2008 07:07 PM

Last job I had that was at a computer it was an instant dismissal if they caught you on the internet... not that I had the time to surf the net at that horrible job.

What were you doing?

I'll post in this thread from work next week when I get a seat with my back to the wall...

Mr. Grady 05-08-2008 06:55 AM

you betcha.

ManchestrMorgue 05-09-2008 03:00 AM

Never post from work. Our internet usage is monitored and I get a bit worried that the site may be deemed "inappropriate".

Despare 05-09-2008 07:03 AM

Sometimes, but mostly on lunch. I get bored after a while and I eat fast (or often just don't eat).

Roderick Usher 05-09-2008 08:57 AM

Work? What's that?

Think I'll go for a walk today, or maybe take in a movie;)

he he he

Abominus 05-09-2008 09:28 AM

I have my own office so I do as I please between actual work. It's the first time I've been in a situation like this.

I is pleased.

Go ahead - rub it in! It's 56 and raining here - and it's supposed to rain all day and all night.

hey, ...we all make sacrifices ..

but as much as i hate canadian winters ... i'm proabably the one guy here that doesn't envy your living where you do ..
(i would fail miserably in California)

pop Toronto down in the middle of the caribbean and i'd be a happy boy.

Well, I'm not a guy, but I wouldn't wanna live where Rod does, either

Too busy...Too many people...Too fast-paced...And I'm pretty sure that it gets quite a bit hotter there than it does here...I live in a 'severe weather alley' AKA 'tornado alley', so we get lots of storms and plenty of rain, which I love...Life is easy and 'settled' here

As for being at HDC at work...Well, I work here at home...Managing the finances, taking care of house and kids (no one can tell me it's not a 'job'...Especially with a two year-old)...There are 5 computers here in the main room, that are never turned off...So, any time I'm passing by, I check in to see what's going on at the forum (like now...Baby fell asleep, dishwasher's loaded and running, laundry is almost done)...I know it's not the same because I can't get busted :p, but I figured I'd answer the question anyway

Doc Faustus 05-09-2008 11:03 AM

I post on HDC when my girlfriend thinks I'm working. Though I'm usually trying to work as I do so.

urgeok2 05-09-2008 11:49 AM
