The All-Time HDC Tournament of Tournaments

I thought of waiting till the Wacky one or Gore's Tag Team one was done, but since I am all ready to go with this (and because Alky will REALLY love it)...

Ladies and Gentlemen...

The tournament which will end all tournaments...

64 toppers, as listed by IMDB. 64 high-ranked HDC choices.

IMDB vs HDC.

1 winner.

Who will it be?

Let's find out...

This tournament is dedicated to Alky, Newb, Des, Return & Urge.

(I have 128 listed, but if you have any suggestions, feel free to PM me)

First match up in a few...

Round 1 Match 1

One of the best modern war classics...

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...dL._SS500_.jpg

Saving Private Ryan (1998)

vs.

The most hard-hitting Asian horror-survival movie...

Battle Royale aka Batoru Rowaiaru(2000)
Director - Kinji Fukasaku

Oh, and since we will be having the BEST of horror (and related) taking on the BEST of all other genres, I will be using movie posters, instead of DVD covers. (unless I don't find one)

Despare 04-20-2008 08:55 PM

Battle Royale

Personally I liked Tae Guk Gi (sp) better than Private Ryan.

jenna26 04-20-2008 08:57 PM

Same. I think Private Ryan was a bit over-hyped. Still, it ranks high in the IMDB top 250...so here it is.

3-0 to Battle Royale so far.

5-3, Nosferatu sucks the life out of Bale's caped crusader.

Don't count on it.

Remember that Night/Dawn/Day combined together lost out to Eastwood's Sphagetti Westerns in the Franchise tourney.

I think we will be having a surprise winner in this one too...

3-1, Night leads over Requiem for a Dream.
