GIALLO news

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/...1f57b7a2530061

So, we've had a bit of a casting switch on GIALLO. We lost Ray Liotta and the lovely Asia Argento back in February due to "personal matters"

We have since recast the film and I couldn't be happier!!!!

We roll in Torino in May, keep your fingers crossed for us:D

I'm really happy for you and can't wait to be able to say to all my friends - I know the guy who wrote this.

Are you gonna be in it?

neverending 04-11-2008 06:49 AM

Very exciting!

yeah,
I'm sorry about that ...

Ray decided to go with me on my newest project "Sinbad and the Eye of the Don"

whereas Asia ... well, a couple drinks, a couple of dances at the toronto film festival ... ahh , lets just say she'll be back in action in another 9 months or so.

That's pretty damn cool. Congratulations! Argento and Adrien Brody...to quote Keanu:"Whoa".

Couldn't have said it better myself. ;)

Brody is continually impressing me. I can't wait, Rod. That's so exciting.

Roderick Usher 04-11-2008 07:39 AM

we're really excited. It was scary for a while when our cast started dropping off, but everyone involved (especially my writing partner, Jim) managed to keep their heads and really focus on nuts-and-bolts film production to keep this film on track.

It's going to be really fun. We start preproduction on Monday and film May12!!!!!!

And for those of you who don't know Emmanuelle Seigner, click the link. She was in The Diving Bell and the Butterfly and La Vie En Rose just last year. She's Roman Polanski's wife... and that's her singing too!

Harryhausen doing the effects on that one......I miss the old "stop motion".

Best of luck to you Sean.;)

Adrien Brody has signed up to play the lead in Horrormeister Dario Argento's new project Giallo ('yellow' in English).

The film revolves around an American flight attendant who teams with an Italian investigator to search for her missing sister who has been abducted by a serial killer going only by the sinister moniker 'Yellow'.

Fans of the genre will no doubt be aware that 'Giallo' also refers to the Italian pulp, horror and erotic genre of films that Argento has made his own – such as Deep Red and Bird With the Crystal Plumage.

Brody might well be the most famous actor to appear in an Argento film, which are typically low budget.

Production is set to start in Torino in May.

Is Brody playing another homocidal retard?

I have liked him in most of what I have seen himin, but the Village was just awful, all around. hopefully this will redeem him

I know you'll be happy with him in this role.

He's playing a super-stylish, tough as nails Inspector with a fucked-up past and a penchant for violence. He's going to be fucking AWESOME in the role.

Mr. Brody is incredibly smart and really gets the material. He's super-fucking excited to work with Argento and he's even talking with Cladio Simonetti about the score/soundtrack -

Roderick Usher 04-14-2008 01:39 PM

Today marks the start of preproduction!

There is a production office in Torino with a staff working full-time to prepare for the shoot. Make-up effects, background casting and set construction are all underway.

Location scouting is done and we will be ready to sghoot in three weeks!

neverending 04-14-2008 01:45 PM

Awesome!

Do you get to go to Italy to observe at all?
What an experience!

no, my writing partner will be going over there to shoot the behind the scenes stuff for the DVD, but I can't afford to be away from the children for that long. The daycare would kill me.

This is a passsion project for us...not a lot of cash. The wife can't quite qit her job to say at home with the boys just yet, so I'll be missing my first film being made.

It's kind of breaking my heart, but that's just the way things go. I can always just be happy that Dario likes our writing and is making our movie.

neverending 04-14-2008 02:31 PM

Well, this can only be the beginning of great things. Plenty more to come in the future.

GorePhobia 04-14-2008 02:32 PM

That stinks Sean but hey it is still awesome he is doing it and you are apart of it no matter what. Plus at this point family comes first, I am confident that you will have many more of these to come, sir.

slasherman 04-14-2008 02:57 PM

sounds like a interesting movie..I gonna watch out for it...
