Musicians that become actors
This is usually hit or miss situation especially if its done to cash in on their 20sec of fame:
http://imagecache2.allposters.com/im...ce-Posters.jpg I've always dug Tom Waits a actor ever since I saw him in Bram Stocker's Dracula and Down By Law. Iggy was great in Dead Man and Crybaby Gene Simmons is a pretty decent villain especially in Wanted: Dead Or Alive Wendy O. Williams (RIP :( ) was fuckin' dope in Reform School Girls http://www.cinemaretro.com/uploads/patast2.jpg I haven't braved watching my Cradle Of Fear DVD yet :p |
Johnny Depp moved to LA with plans of being a musician...
Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop, Tom Waits, and Kris Kristofferson too. I'm sure I could think of more but there's a few good ones. |

Oh, and Marky Mark, I guess you can't forget him.
|
If we're counting rappers, then Ice Cube and Mos Def are both good actors.
|
David Bowie in Man Who Fell to Earth and many other roles.
|
Marky Mark is the first one I think of.

Ice T had some pretty good roles in New Jack City, Surviving The Game and Ricochet |
***waiting for Dolly to mention a certain Justin T***
Cough...cough. |
Mos Def was Ford in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie, and recently starred in Be Kind Rewind.

Though I must admit, David Bowie takes the cake here, with Mark Wahlberg a close second. |

That series sucked.
The only times I ever liked the guy were in MIB and I Am Legend. |

Mos Def was in Something the Lord Made with Alan Rickman. If you haven't seen it, I suggest you do. Excellent movie. |

Did he not make it to the arc in time to be saved from the flood :)

I'm pretty fond of Elvis movie. There's nothing like them. Also, Paul Anka was in a hillarious semi-exploitation effort called Girlstown alongside Mamie Van Doren. It was a much funnier phenomenon in the 50's and early sixties and spawned lots of hillarious drivel. We wouldn't have the Giant Gila Monster if Hollywood wasn't trying to shove Don Sullivan down a reluctant America's throat. Rock stars now get to be in movies with dignity, and it's much less fun.

Nope, he didn't. Shame too, he was a good looking guy. :D Just thought of two more: Marie Osmond and Donny Osmond |
