I want one.

ChronoGrl's impulse for the evening:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...IM001640-1.jpg

My boyfriend is deathly allergic to cats, so it would have to be hairless.

Luckily, there is a Sphynx Cat Breeder nearby.

I just emailed my landlord. If he gives us the greenlight, I am so investing in a hairless cat. Like tomorrow.

Did you know...
  • Hairless cats require regular bathing,
  • are prone to ear and eye infections,
  • can get sunburned if left outside,
  • and are incredibly temperature-sensitive. It is suggested that you purchase clothing for your hairless kitty or make a homemade sweater by cutting holes out of an old tube sock.

Zero 04-03-2008 05:31 PM

get a hairy cat - kill boyfriend - start fresh!

Day after day
I will walk and I will play
But the day after today
I will stop
And I will start my way
Why cant I get just one kiss
Why cant I get just one kiss
Believe me thered be somethings that I wouldnt miss
But I look at your pants and I need I need a kiss
Why cant I get just one screw
Why cant I get just one screw
Believe me I know what to do
But something wont let me make love to you
Why cant I get just one fuck
Why cant I get just one fuck
I guess its something to do with luck
But I waited my whole life for just one
Day afterday
I get angry
And I will say
That the day
Is in my sight
When Ill take a bow
And say goodnight

Our cat's older than the earth it bumbles on. It ate a blue lizard and now it walks funny and stares at the wall.

Zero 04-03-2008 05:35 PM

if you ate blue lizards you'd walk funny too

Freak 04-03-2008 05:36 PM

Thats not a cat.Thats some wierd creepy alien that sorta resembles a cat.

Disease 04-03-2008 05:36 PM

Is it similar to a devan rex, I know someone with one of them, but it looks blue?

aparently they are breed to live on submarines, why you want a cat on a submarine has me waffled..

Dante'sInferno 04-03-2008 05:36 PM

My cat is cool.Although he steals money......jumps up door frames and has a weird obsession with green gloves.I haz a pretty siamese cat.:)

Marroe 04-03-2008 05:41 PM

Are those the ones that can actually pick things up with their paws? I saw that somewhere a while back and thought it was kind of creepy/cool. It's shedding season. I'd LOVE to just SHAVE my cat right now. I have to vacuum everyday.

Yeah. She's been extra annoying too

@dante. There's an idea too. Hopefully we won't be mad at each other too much longer though.

We have something like that. It's called a baby.

Don't get an annoying cat.... who meows all the time.... for no reason.... non at all.... and then you start to frequently tell the cat to shut the fuck up.... shut the fuck up cat I hate you so much..... I wish I never found you ....... in that trash can.

Don't get a cat that you had to beg to be allowed to keep because the cat lived on a highway and at the time the thought of the thing getting squashed was horrible..... and it keeps meowing until you want to kill it...... you want it not breathing..... but the ironic thing is that now your boyfriend is attached to the cat... and you fantasize about ways to kill it...... skinning it alive and boiling it in molasses...... all the time your boyfriend cuddles the cat and says "he only meows when you're around"

yeah, don't get one of those cats.

Oh, you've left out the part that about 99.9% of hairless cats are absolutely ugly as goddamn sin... But I want a cat. Pretty damn badly. And the stripy ones are pretty cute. I'll take it in the bathtub. It'll be like bonding.

But less maintenance. See? If the boyfriend and I can't handle taking care of a Sphynx Cat, then we know that we would be unfit parents.

Some people call it "frivolous," I call it "socially responsible."

At least you don't have to bathe it.

You haven't been hanging out in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, have you?? They have a serial cat killer running around. Residents have been finding corpses of cats that were obviously tortured and killed.

So.

I just got an email back from the breeder: "Fare warning, our animals do not fare well alone without another animal be it a dog or another cat."

I found this rather odd. While dogs and ferrets are incredibly social and communal animals, I thought that cats were more independent and less needy.

It's not exactly in the Chrono budget to purchase more than one hairless kitty.

i've always had cats in pairs.

whenever i had just the one (before getting the second one) they really were clingy.

the last pair i had were brother and sister .. when one died - the other died less than a year later - i'm sure it was because the other one was gone.

booo

My childhood kitties, a boy and a girl, never really got along all that well together, so I didn't think that cats were that social.

ChronoGrl 04-05-2008 11:42 AM

So as it turns out, further email correspondence with the first hairless cat breeder that I contacted reveals that she is an absolute cunt. I will have to take my business elsewhere.

However...

A few months ago I was in contact with a Main Coon Cat breeder to purchase a kitten for my mom... And the litter has been delivered!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...uesKittens.jpg

The breeder's website is here.

One of these blue beauties will be bestowed upon my mom sometime in the near future... I can't wait. :)

ChronoGrl 04-12-2008 07:25 PM

Now I'm in touch with this breeder.

They have itty bitty kitty babies - 1 week old. Just inquired about this one:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...enelake025.gif

I want my kitten. :)

I miss cats! My husband is also allergic. Maybe someday we will look into getting a Sphynx someday. At the moment, we have a Jack Russell (Rascal) and a terrier mix(Cheyenne), One is completely insane and one is a total sweetheart, if just a tad obsessive.....:D

Oh my goodness, Jenna... They're beautiful. :)

Well, I'll let you know how being a Sphyx cat owner goes. They're high maintenance (and really really WEIRD looking), but it's SO worth it because I really really really want a cat. They're friendly - they'd probably get along with you r dogs. :)
