Presidential Election 2008
So, this year's election is looking to be interesting. I'm not really sure who i'm going to vote for. I keep switching between Ron Paul and Rudy Giuliani, leaning towards Paul. I've been back and forth, but it's getting to the point where I just want it to be:

If she wins, 2 families will run the country for a minimum of 24-28 years. Bush Sr 1989-1993, Bill 1993-2001, Bush Jr. 2001-2009, Hillary 2009-2013/2017? Who knows, maybe Jeb Bush'll throww his hat into the ring after that! That doesn't sound like a democratic republic to me, it sounds like an aristocracy. The only thing certain is that proceeding in the same direction as the current administration is dooming more than just our country. |

I hate her. HATE HER. BUT I hate the republicans even more... The way I see it, I am a slave to our bipartisan government and will have aboslutely no other option but to vote for whichever Democrat comes up on top (personally, I perfer EDWARDS over Hillary or Obama, but he's pretty much done by now). Anyone but the GOPs. Anyone. Anyone. ... But, really, I live in Massachusetts. We'll always vote Democratic, so I am essentially disenfranchised (thank YOU, Electoral College!)... Luckily I'm liberal... But... Yet. sigh |

Don't push me.... ;) |
Well.... I may be bashed for saying this, but I'd rather see a female president for once, just to see the difference in how the country is run. So I'll be voting for Ellen Page!!
HAHA@ Disease |
new york will probably go for clinton - who I don't hate like some of you but, like Rod, would not really want to see as prez/
i'm supporting obama - he's young and a new face in politics, i think he's got the right attitudes about most of the issues tha matter to me. but i have to say - i'd vote for satan himself before i'd vote republican at this point (although i think satan is definitely registered with the GOP) |

My biggest problem with Hillary is the fact that she is using being a woman to her advantage, which, quite frankly, I find personally more offensive than any of the misogynistic slander that has been tossed around in regards to her "ability to lead a country." Also, to be quite and entirely blunt, I do not believe that America will vote for a woman. Dead honesty. I know - It's completely misogynistic, but I believe that our country is still ruled by patriarchy that people simply will not vote for a woman. And if she winds up as the Democratic candidate, she will ultimately LOSE to whomever the Republicans run. And, as I said... Anyone but the GOP. Quote:
But I'd rather him than Hillary. I think. sigh |
Edwards has now dropped out, and rumors are that Rudy may soon be gone!

With Edwards gone, I've decided I'm not voting. He's the one I was going to vote for. |
Who's the one that keeps using the chuck norris facts in his capaign?
Though for many reasons I can't vote (english 14 year old), if I could, I'd vote democrat, simply because I don't mind either way. Hillary seems okay but not the best choice, and obama seems to be what america needs after Bush. Not because of what he could, but probably wont do, but because he seems like a nice smart guy (which will be nice considering the last seven years) who has the right attitude. Paul seems okay, but it just seems like the same old, same old. Not to mention, with either democrats, you're getting a first. First black president, or first woman president. It's history in the making folks! |
If and when the time comes I'm voting for Obama.
|
i like Obama but I said way back if they run hillery or obama they would just hand it over to Mccain. and i knew rudy didn't have a chance he is Italian
|
I like obama, and mccain. Is that normal to like someone from each side?
I think I may go Nader LOL |
I'm not for either party, but sure as hell don't want a republican.
However, I live in Louisiana, and the democratic candidates are a woman, and a black guy. Translation, my vote doesn't really matter. It'll go to Obama though. |
As usual, it comes down to the lesser of several evils. I'd go with Obama, in spite of the fact that Oprah supports him. As an anarchist, I want fewer people getting in the way of my doing what I want. I would be a libertarian, but the whole Ayn Rand thing bothers me. People are supposed to give a shit for each other. Getting rid of big government out of enlightened self interest is as silly as mass homogeneity or a perpetual crusade. I don't believe poor people being able to eat gets in the way of my personal freedoms, nor does decent healthcare. The freedom to watch people starve in the streets is an absurd one. So, until society gets its act together and the private sector is ready to role up its sleeves and care for its fellow man , I'll take spineless middle of the road chickenshit over negligence or fascism.

It's strange, I'd vote democrat if I were american, but I'm a tory (conservative) supporter in england. :S
