Sad day. :(
He died this afternoon of pneumonia. RIP Heath. |
People disgust me.

Second, yes I agree with you, it is a sad day when somebody dies, but when a movie star, or some famous person dies, its a tragedy. Its so fucking stupid how people will be glued to the tv, or the internet, trying to get more information on this tragedy. I say fuck them, yes he died, but hes not fucking mother theresa. I mean jesus christ, people make such a fuss over famous people dieing, when thousands, if not millions, of truely tragic deaths happen daily. But ya know, god for bid anyone pay attention to news of children dieing of hunger in poor countries, or about the poor souls that were driving so far into a depressing that they kill them selves. BUT GOD FUCKING FORBID WE MISS ANY NEWS OF HOW A STAR DIES. People disgust me. |
Woah... Was that directed to me? I was simply reporting news.
Sorry?? |

Anyways we have been discussing this allready.... Here : http://horror.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32661&page=3 just scroll down a bit. |

Jealousy rears its ugly head.
But seriously, there's no need to flip shit. It is sad...and interesting. When a well-known person dies, people will be interested. No one is killing themselves over it, or cursing God, or anything like that. They're simply surprised. I didn't shed a single tear for Heath Ledger, but I still found the news tragic. I would also find it tragic if my grandma died. Death is sad. Period. There's nothing wrong with being a little inquisitive, or even sad, when someone young and successful dies so suddenly. |
It's all good. Everybody hug.
|
I wasn't trying to stir anything up. I hate the news how they overdo it but I like listening to it to get more of what happened.
|
On the news in the UK it said there was a bottle of sleeping pills by his bedside & the Police do not expect foul play. Sad day though, great actor.
|
That's pretty fucked, but now he can be imortalised ....
Had they finished shooting the new Batman? |
i read the production was done on tdk, i dont know for sure.
rest in peace heath and all the people and animals that die everyday. |
I'm pretty sure they had finished The Dark Knight...but he was in the middle of a project with Terry Gilliam.
|
Very sad, although I do see psycoms point. R.I.P Heath.

Gilliam's freaking out right now, methinks. |
Gilliam is cursed! Maybe he is to blame for all of this, who is to say?
|
I'm actually 100% completely shocked about this one. Some people, you can accept that they are gone but heath is on the same level as Steve Irwin for me. A friend of mine told me yesterday that Heath had died and I just sat there for a while cause I thought it was a joke, and then I came on here and yep he's dead. It's so wierd. At least we know Dark Knight is going to do super in theatres.
|
I just watched a trailer for Dark Knight. Looks like it's going to be really good!

This is how obituaries happen now days. In the one posted by Cailtlyn she spelled his name "Heith" through the whole things and yet he is "one of her favourite actors" Just thought it was funny. |

Accidental Pill Overdose Killed Ledger
Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose of painkillers, sleeping pills, anti-anxiety medication and other prescription drugs, the New York City medical examiner said Wednesday. The cause of death was "acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine," spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said in a statement. The drugs are the generic names for the painkiller OxyContin, the anti-anxiety drugs Valium and Xanax, and the sleep aids Restoril and Unisom. Hydrocodone is a widely used prescription painkiller. Borakove wouldn't say what concentrations of each drug were found in Ledger's blood, or whether one drug played a greater part than another in causing his death. "What you're looking at here is the cumulative effects of these medications together," she said. The ruling comes two weeks after the 28-year-old Australian-born actor was found dead in the bed of his rented SoHo apartment. Police found bottles of six types of prescription drugs, including sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication, in his bedroom and bathroom. Ledger was discovered by his masseuse on Jan. 22 after she arrived for an appointment that afternoon. She entered his bedroom to set up for the massage and found him unresponsive, and proceeded to call Mary-Kate Olsen three times over the next 9 minutes before dialing 911. Ledger had been dead for some time, and police say no foul play occurred. Ledger, nominated for an Oscar for his role in "Brokeback Mountain," had returned to New York from London days before his death, where he had been filming a $30 million Terry Gilliam film. He said in a November interview that his most recent completed roles in the Batman movie "The Dark Night" and Bob Dylan biopic "I'm Not There" had taken a toll, saying he couldn't sleep. "Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night," Ledger told The New York Times. "I couldn't stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going." He said he had taken two Ambien pills, which only gave him an hour of sleep. Ledger's family returned to the actor's hometown of Perth, Australia on Tuesday to prepare for his funeral. Arrangements were private. In a statement released through Ledger's publicist, Ledger's father, Kim, said Wednesday: "While no medications were taken in excess, we learned today the combination of doctor-prescribed drugs proved lethal for our boy. Heath's accidental death serves as a caution to the hidden dangers of combining prescription medication, even at low dosage." |
That's a lot of shit to have in your system at one time, especially since they are mainly downers, I really don't see the need to take diazapam and temazapam together, just dubble the dose of one or the other...
|
They should arrest his fucking doctor.
|
He probably got them from several doctors and didn't tell each of them what they were prescibing to him. I know on that form in the doctor's office it is an option to fill out the "Are you taking any prescriptions", but in the same respect I usually try to inform some one of what I am taking. So that may be a lot of doctors to be suing.
He had some great movies though. RIP Heath Ledger. |
to get back to a point made earlier, about the reason we (humans in general) feel sad when a celebrity, that we don't know, dies:
many people in today's world of media overkill (and increasing feelings of isolation, but that's another topic altogether) see celebrities' faces more than they see their own family. the average american could probly tell you the last time Britney Spears was in the hospital but balk at the same question concerning their own grandmother. americans are media-obsessed, let's face it. here we are, spending generous amounts of time discussing, what else? media and pop culture (albeit a dirty corner). it sorta explains the phenomena of why average people routinely feel comfortable approaching movie stars and talking to them... it's b/c they know them better than they know most "real" people that they see every day. you can ask anyone who is even moderately famous and they will say he same thing: that the "public," in a way, feels as though they have some claim on you (whether they truly do or not is up for debate also) and, when denied access to your life/info/whatever, they react (as in a death, or even when a celebrity denies an autograph). so, even though I certainly feel worse about innocent lives being lost (such as in the recent tornado attack in the south), you can't blame people for freaking out when a celebrity, which they feel is someone they know, dies. it's just yet another example of the adage, "people suck." |

believe me, if Chevy Chase (Fletch, not Cops & Robbersons) or Rowdy Roddy (They Live) Piper died, I would feel sad b/c that would mean there would definitely be no more Fletch or They Live sequels ever! :( |
I think its a safe bet to say, there most likely won't be any They Live sequels coming out anytime soon.
nor Fletch. I agree with Despare....its the lost potential that is most upsetting. |
well at least they're saying it was an accident. But for me it's going to be a little weird watching a character that's actually dead.
