A list for spaghetti zombie completists...

Here's a list of every Italian zombie movie up till 2000, as compiled by Peter Dendle in The Zombie Movie Encyclopedia. It's damn exhaustive.

After Death
Baron Blood
The Beyond
Burial Ground
The Cemetery Man
City Of The Walking Dead
Dawn Of The Mummy
Demoni 3
Dr Butcher MD
Erotic Nights Of The Living Dead
The Gates Of Hell
The House By The Cemetery
Let Sleeping Corpses Lie
Night of The Zombies
Raptors
Return Of The Zombies
Terror Creatures From The Grave
Vengeance Of The Zombies
War Of The Zombies
Zeder
Zombi
Zombie 6: Monster Hunter (really just a sequel to Grim Reaper AKA Anthropophagus, but released on video in America as a zombie film)
Zombi 3

And I guess Dawn Of The Dead could count even though he doesn't mention it. Most of its money was Italian, and film critics consider Once Upon a Time in the West an American Western because it was made with American money, so I guess the reverse would work, too. I've seen everything mentioned except the sword-and-sandal movie War Of The Zombies. Anyone seen it???

Dawn of the Mummy, Zeder, and Raptors aren't even ringing any bells. I've seen most of the rest of those.

Fulci's Zombie, Gates of Hell, and The Beyond are all pretty good. I love the first two Demons movies. The only Argento films I can recommend are Tenebre and Two Evil Eyes (which he co-directed with Romero).

I just saw Fulci's Zombie (or zombi 2) last night at a midnight movie, they played it at a nice theater in NYC and it was cool to see on the big screen. It was crowded and people were hooting and cheering a lot. The ending definitely had the New York audience freaking out! I thought it was pretty good but I prefer Romero's zombies. They're playing Blood Feast next week.

New York Ripper is a fucking awesome Lucio Fulci movie.. I recommend you seeing that it..

Sometimes I really envy you Abby.

Baron Blood is a Mario Bava in which th undead make a small appearance. It's available on DVD, but not really much of a full-fledged zombie movie.

Dawn Of The Mummy was filmed in Egypt and isn't all that good, though noteworthy because here the mummies are presented as fleshe-eating zombies. I had trouble tracking this one down for a while, too, but it was just released a few weeks ago on DVD. Check out the cheap section Best Buy. The one here has it for 5.99.

Zeder was an Italian TV movie released in theaters in America. Not much good, but I like it simply because I saw it on a big screen when I was a kid. I think Ancho Bay released it yrs ago, though now it's long out of print.

Raptors is available on DVD as Zombie 5: Killing Birds from Shriek Show.

Ah, I remember it now. Hate those pesky alternate titles. The Becker Law office guy, Robert Vaughn, is in it.

Dr.Kelvinstein 01-17-2004 08:32 PM

Yep, Robert Vaugh his own damn self. Been in so many bad movies that he can't even remember them all.
