Paranormal experiences, anyone?
I've been reading on a lot of sites about true hauntings and possessions, and I am addicted to Ghost Hunters. I just wanted to know if any of you here have experienced any paranormal experiences. I have, but some of it can be easily explained. I'll start with the explainable first. One night, I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. When I went to return to my bed, I passed our storage room (where most of the activity takes place), and I seen an apparition come at me. It freaked me out, but I passed it off as my imagination playing tricks on me. I mean, I was still sleepy. Another experience I have is a recurring one. Every now and then, my toilet will make a sound that it only makes once it's done flushing. It's hard to explain. Just think of it this way: when you flush the toilet, it does the whole flushing sound. Well, at the end of it, for me at least, it does one high-pitched flush and stops. Well, it's starting to do that without anybody flushing the toilet. This has never happened. But, it has been doing this quite frequently for the past month. I've decided to pass it off as the plumbing, since it seems to be at random and happens at least every day. Now, onto the unexplainable. One night, I was watching a movie (Halloween, if I recall), and I seen the light in the storage room flickering on and off. So, I got up to go see why, figuring the light bulb was dying. When I entered the room, I seen that the switch was moving up and down by itself. I froze for a minute, in total shock, then turned the switch completely off. Nothing happened for the rest of the night, nor has anything happened since. I can't come up with an understable solution. The other happening happened when I was in 4th grade. I had this Buzz Lightyear alarm clock in my bedroom (which, coincidentally, is now the storage room). One night, me and my family were out in the living room watching TV, and the alarm suddenly went off. I didn't set it, but I thought that maybe I did and went into my bedroom and unplugged it. Later that night, we heard it going off again. Everybody in the house was in the living room since I unplugged it, so nobody could've plugged it back in. I got rid of the alarm clock right away, and didn't sleep in my bedroom for a week. That too, I can't explain.
So, does anybody else have any paranormal experiences to share with us? |
Switch moving up and down by itself? That's weird!
How did you feel when you saw that? |

last year a friend and i roomed together in an apartment in terre haute. now, first off, anyone that was ever alone in the apartment (including myself) would feel uncomfortable, as if someone was watching (which, as you would know as well, Yellow Jacket, could be attributed to high EMF fields). aaanyway, quite a few weird things happened there that to this day i can't explain. for example, one day my apartment key disappeared off of my keyring and reappeared a couple days later, reattached to the ring and everything. a couple times i'd find a shirt of mine or my roommate's folded neatly and placed on the top of the couch. we also had a wall-mounted stereo that turned on by itself a few times. not to mention weird noises you'd hear here and there. i don't know, i was glad to leave though. |
Soooooo...Tim Allen is haunting your storage room?

yeah the lighthouse episode is incredible. definitely some of the most chilling stuff they've captured. that would be incredible if they did their halloween episode there, you're right. one of the episodes they had on last night had them investigating a house where apparently a ghost was bothering a 5 year old girl. they thought the ghost was a little girl, and they caught and evp of what sounded like a little girl humming. it was so clear. ugh, really creepy. it's weird though, because i'm not even sure if i believe in ghosts, but i still love the show and it definitely creeps me out. |
I'm also a Ghost Hunters addict!! Loved the lighthouse episode, but also Eastern State Penitentiary (the first one), and Leap Castle - how could you guys forget Dustin getting slammed to the ground?!
I've only had one experience and it's probably easily explained away. My roommate, her brother, and I were staying at a cottage in Mt. Gretna, PA. They were out on the porch and I was in the living room, sitting on the couch, in that state between asleep and awake. Kinda drowsy I'd guess you'd say. All of a sudden I heard - right next to my ear - someone say my name. And the voice sounded like my roommate's late father. Well, that brought me straight up and I ran out onto the porch and said "I think your Dad's here". My roommate is very much a believer in the paranormal (she picks up on stuff that I don't see or hear) and said "Oh, OK." Do you guys remember "Scariest Places On Earth"? Right before it went off the air - like about 3 weeks before - we had interviewed to be on the show. We thought we had a really good chance at being on it, too. It went off the air right after 9/11/01. |
there's a little boy in my apartment
I catch him out of the corner of my eye from time-to-time He's usually standing at the top of the stairs |

oh yeah, i remember that show! they used to play it a ton during abc's "13 nights of halloween." in fact, if i remember correctly, that's pretty much all they used to play for the "13 nights of halloween." so how were you going to be on the show? that's awesome though, that you were going to be on it! not awesome that it was canceled before you were on it, however. You had to be family, so I was her "sister-in-law". We had her, me, her two sons, and her daughter-in-law. We're still bummed that it got cancelled. It was one of the shows we really enjoyed watching. We were hoping to go to Chillingham Castle. Or Leap Castle. Heck, I even would have taken Dracula's Castle - which was the last original show, by the way. Everything they've been showing since, i.e., 13 Nights of Halloween, have all been reruns. |
whoo my turn. when I was little I was always seeing things. That could be attributed to a wild imagination, or how younger kids have a higher chance or having that stuff happen to them. So I don't know if I should count these ones. First was seeing people standing by the bathroom at my aunts house all the time. Second was a night when I was sleeping in my mom's room because I had a nightmare. I saw a shadow walk past her closet and then heard someone walking down the stairs. No one else was home so it totally freaked me out.
The one that really freaked me out was when I slept over at my friend's house down the street. We were talking about boys, clothes etc. when we heard this toy robot going off in the toy box. We figured it was just running out of batteries and randomly made a noise because toys to that. It happened several times so we got up to check and the only toy that made noise had no batteries in it. |
well about 4 years ago. i went to see "emilys bridge" in stowe, vt. i dont know if you've ever heard of it. but they say its haunted by a girl named emily. it was in the 1900s. emily was waiting for her lover to meet her at the bridge so they could go and get married, because their parents did not want them to wed. he never showed. so she hung herself on the bridge. they say when people crossed the bridge with horses/or cars. that she would scratch them when they drove through. some say they can hear her.
anyway. i went there one halloween. there was couple there, and they were taking pictures with there digital camera. the girl said she was in the middle of the bridge, and she heard something. i didnt so much have an experience myself. but just being there felt wierd. and the bridge is creepy. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...ilysbridge.jpg |
I was raised in a house where slaves had been lynched that was also the site of a trolley crash. We had things happen all the time. There was a guy hanging from the apple tree outside every now and again for one thing. There was also a tall, dark figure that would stand behind people when they looked in the mirror. That's what you get for living in a town founded in 1630.

I was 9 and had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night while visiting my uncle in Detroit.
I heard tiny footsteps walking through the ventilation system...And when they got close enough to be at the bathroom vent opening..they stopped. That was a very uncomfortable pee, let me tell you. |
