You're going to have to find a time machine for any of the movies that fall under the year 2008-20007. Sorry; we're not that good.

O.K. nOOb... It's spelled "Probably"....and your title reads 20007 not 2007.
Next time you correct a senior member...maybe you should proof read your thread.

missmacabre 11-18-2007 09:15 AM

get over it you guys. This guy seems like hes trying pretty hard to participate in his own thread which is more than I can say about most people who come on here looking for a movie.

Then quitcherbitchen and give him one.

Check out Blade 2. Before you watch it you may want to check out the first Blade but bear in mind that it was made waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 1998.

I would haave but his time frame and good vampire movies didn't compute.

Very true, wekiller, you're sentenced to watch Dracula 2000 over and over again until the end of time.

Disease 11-19-2007 09:13 AM

What about that shity sequal to Vampires with Bon Jovi.. Have you seen that?

I thought it was o.k... not great, o.k.

Shadow of the Vampire is probably the best one I can think of in this time frame.

Let me preface my response by saying that the last decade hasn't produced an over-abundance of great horror films. Most of the true masterpieces in the horror genre are earlier films. The 70s in particular was a great period for horror.

But since you asked about 2000-2007:
  • The Descent (2005) - One of the VERY few genuine horror films nowadays.
  • 28 Days Later (2002) - Apocalyptic, scary, sci-fi flick with some nice gore.
  • 28 Weeks Later (2007) - Great sequel. Not quite as good as the original overall, but certainly gorier.

The above films are ALL the horror films that I feel deserve recommendation from this decade. After these the best films would include the four Saw films, the two Hostel films, the two Hills Have Eyes remakes, and the two Texas Chainsaw remakes. But these films are a sad representation of what horror really is. Those films are short on plot and acting and rely mainly on exploitative suffering and gore. Hardly a horror movie.

If you are willing to check out earlier films, you will not disappointed with these true masterpieces of the horror genre:
  • The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
  • The Omen (1976)
  • Alien (1979)
  • Aliens (1986)
  • The Shining (1980)
  • The Exorcist (1973)
  • Halloween (1978)
  • The Evil Dead (1981)

They don't make 'em like these anymore (unfortunately  )

I detect sarcasm in that last statement on page one. It's funny in the way it's written, but you really do have to be hesitant to watch the original Blade. Out of all of the films I have seen, Blade is the only one which has failed the test of time. I really hope it was one of the very first films to use CGI... otherwise, there is no excuse what-so-ever. It just looks pathetic, and ruins the film. It feels like your watching the Work Print. I checked all the special features, and the digital effects guy is a big ol' loser. I wanted to smack him around a few times.
