The Dark Verse Halloween Contest - Free DVDs
 

Last night I sent out a Halloween Greeting on my podcast, The Dark Verse. I asked a question about one of my episodes and the first two people to answer it in an e-mail to [email protected] would win a DVD of their choice!

The thing is... no one has sent me such an e-mail yet. The Dark Verse is so new to the podcasting world that it does not have enough listeners who would be a part of such an event. So, now I am letting you all know about this contest for which I will still uphold the prize!

Listen to my Halloween Greeting at TheDarkVerse.com, hear the question, listen to the episode it is about, and send me an e-mail with the answer so I can give out some free DVDs!

You are absolutely right about the cut out at 12 minutes---it even does so on the download. I am going to re-upload the mp3. Thanks for letting me know! That is disastrous.

Nice! And I fixed the problem! I re-uploaded the file---it is good now. It still may not play the whole way through on the Podtrac player if you already listened to the bad version of the mp3 because it got cached on your computer, so download the mp3 in that case and you will be golden!

I am really glad all of you caught that because the answer to my question for the contest is in that half of the episode! No wonder no one has been emailing me with an answer!

Now it is a race for that last DVD!

Regardless of the contest, I appreciate everyone who listens greatly.

I just downloaded it and it didn't work still....

EDIT: Never mind I fixed it.

I did a test download right now and it worked fine. Maybe the other version is still overriding the one you just downloaded somehow. Try deleting the episode from your computer completely and then download it again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Also that was me who won the first one, if you didn't get that. And yeah the story is pretty good. I'm getting The Shining, cause my dvd of it was stolen/borrowed and never returned.

I'm glad you both liked the story. Now I have to find a way of getting all of the horror fans out there a listen.

It is working just fine now, so you should definitely give a listen. And, actually, I did not mention any restrictions about where I would ship to, so I would have had to send you a DVD because I keep my word!

LOL@Disease, No dvd for you! but give his website a try, his stories aren't half that bad. They are actually pretty decent. I still think the twist ending was a bit cheesy but cool.

I am glad to see you got your DVDs! Thanks again for participating. I will definitely have a competition like this again---perhaps during the holidays.

Also, make sure you keeping checking out my episodes and giving me feedback when you can. My third episode just went up and it is called What The Flesh Cannot Keep. I think it is quite an interesting story; I take a little different perspective on the limitations of a ghost-like being (though the plot of the story goes much deeper than that).

Here is an excerpt from the story that I also included in the post on my site:

The haunter behind space was there when I opened the back door and stepped out into the fading light of the sun’s decent. The air was shallow, almost brittle, and I felt its coarseness claw at my lungs in breath. Around me, paleness seized the atmosphere like a fever sacks the color of flesh. The pallor was so severe that it brought about a fatigued contrast between the sun and its surroundings, causing flickering beams of glare to stretch out with hands of keen deception.

On the soil just outside my farmhouse, I sensed it, beyond the bounds of the seen, watching me intently. It had worlds to devour with its attention, but it gave that attention—at this moment—only to me. Through my mind’s eye, I was given a perception of its face through an unwarranted form of communication. The medium of imagery was so fierce that its face was projected, most likely in some hallucinatory manner, in the sky before me. My actual eyes gazed beyond matter into its sinister demeanor.
