Are you some kind of sicko?

AUSTIN316426808 10-05-2007 06:36 PM

I've never wished that I hadn't seen a film. Well, except for North.

nicklord1 10-06-2007 04:14 AM

Its just a catchy name for a thread lol . Those movies rocked but it was kinda one time thing i cant really say i will watch them again but have good memories besides any true horor fan should have seen my list if you havent hang your head in shame.

VampiricClown 10-06-2007 01:34 PM

I watched Cannibal Holocaust, and I must say, I will never let that movie touch my DVD player again.

nicklord1 10-06-2007 02:16 PM

one time thing ay vamp . Yeah i must admit it was horrible but in the same time it had a deep moral message which i thought was unique in other similar titles . Animal cruelty was pointless tho .

Toddums 10-06-2007 03:26 PM

My guess is, judging by this list, you HAD to see these movies to see what some of the controversy was about (like the animal deaths in the cannibal movies, genital mutilations, various rape scenes in the movies you list, etc.).

If that is the case, then you certainly can't say "I wish I had never watched that." You knew what was going to happen before you ever cracked open the DVDs.

Last house on the left?
Not the most vile I can think of, but then again I'm probably sick!! :D

The worst bit in it, is the song running through it, think one of the lead actors actually sang it.

SamCostello 10-07-2007 09:41 AM

Cannibal Holocaust. didn't enjoy it at all, felt awful after seeing it. Don't need to see that kind of movie ever again.

Sam

nicklord1 10-07-2007 11:59 AM

cannibal holocaust was great i felt more uneasy watching cannibal ferox

jaybomb 10-08-2007 06:22 AM

I would say that I'm a true horror fan and I haven't seen them. Can't say I will. I'm even pretty good at watching extreme gore, but I don't see the point in watching them. It just seems like a whole lot of hype. I will not see Cannibal Halocaust. I could stomach it, sure, but I disagree with animal cruelty. Does than mean i should hang my head in shame?

no.

The Mothman 10-08-2007 12:45 PM

probably the AU films.

Abominus 10-08-2007 03:51 PM

Bloodrayne and House of the Dead pop into my head. I also had a rough time with parts of Men Behind the Sun (poor kitty).

monkeyfish28 10-08-2007 04:59 PM

Never have I watched a film and thought 'God, I wish I had never seen that'
I know, I might be the odd one out, but it was made to be watched.
Everything in the horror genre (note I am excluding snuff/peadophilia/animal slaughter) that was made for entertainment is ok, it's supposed to be fun.
It's suppoesed to shock, frighten, disgust.
But for me, it's all...blah!
And yes, I've seen Cannibal Haulocaust (sp) and I would watch it again.

Most vile flicks?

Ulli Lommel's The Raven, Zodiac Killer, Zombie Nation, Green River Killer, B.T.K. Killer and Black Dahlia.

All truly VILE and HORRIBLE!

tarcher80 10-11-2007 11:31 AM

i was talked into seeing "the cell," the that count?

The Vault of Horror 10-15-2007 01:20 PM

I Spit on Your Grave

Skaboy 10-19-2007 06:53 AM

Firstly and as others have said, I've never *had* to - been forced to - watch a film. I've seen some pretty nasty stuff but that was through choice and curiosity.

Men Behind the Sun affected me and as such, it could be argued that this is a good horror film. I couldn't comfortably watch it again though.

Moving outside of the purely horror genre, Irreversible - in particular the fire extinguisher scene - is pretty uncomfortable viewing.

Cannibal Holocaust is a good film but the animal cruelty was just unnecessary and not something I would watch again. A shame, as apart from those scenes the film is effective.

Although not a horror, Salo is rather unpleasant.

One sub-genre which I will avoid in future is August Underground: all of their titles are just pointless, perverted sick.

$loth 10-21-2007 04:16 AM

Last house on the left would be the most vile, the rape sceens really sickened me. But I chose to study craven for my auteur project so I had to.

A couple of others that i've seen out of choice are cannibal holocaust and salo. CH, again, the rape I didn't like to watch, the animal killing not so much.
Salo, I switched off after the girl + bread roll scene.

onewhosighs 10-21-2007 07:45 AM

Cannibal Holocaust easy.

swiss tony 10-21-2007 08:58 AM

the AU movies make CH look like howard the duck. i bought them both and watched the first 20 mins of mordum before consigning them to the never to be watched section. nobody should watch those movies. also, certain parts of sleepers made me very uncomfortable. finally, if we are gonna recommend movies that should be watched but only once then i'll go for irreversible. a brilliant yet truly disturbing movie:eek:

$loth 10-21-2007 10:29 AM

I thought I had saw bad stuff with CH, but i'm not even going to try and get AU's films  I like knowing there's some films that can still scare me, even if they do it in a sadistic manner :D

swiss tony 10-22-2007 03:28 AM

they aren't scary movies in the conventional sense. they are utterly disturbing and nauseating. i turned mordum off after 20 mins despite having significant dutch courage in me. there are two other films that are similar in impact from what i can tell and they are salo and the men behind the sun. if you're looking for a challenge try irreversible or high tension or ichi the killer

True, they disturb me a lot, but also they seem quite gratuitous. I've heard of irreversible, and I've got ITK uncut, ichi is a great film which doesn't seem to sicken me so much. Possibly because those type of scenes are only a small part, the rest is set around revenge, like the hook and oil scene.

melaniepants 10-23-2007 02:22 PM

a Clockwork Orange ... my friend made me watch it and it was very disturbing

ferretchucker 10-23-2007 04:52 PM

It's an excellent film though. Very strange and disturbing but I just love it.

Although I hate 2001. It's just...crap

yeah, it's a little disturbing but it's definitely in the middle weight division of messed up movies. it doesn't hold a candle to AUM. clockwork orange should be in there with straw dogs or the exorcist in terms of shock. the people who top AUM should receive some sort of custodial punishment. finally, is the men behind the sun the chinese produced equivalent of schindlers list or am i way off?

ManchestrMorgue 10-27-2007 03:57 PM

Men Behind the Sun is about a POW camp where the Japanese performed "medical experiements" on Chinese prisoners.

yeah, i know. but, is it a decent movie in it's own right or is it just a vehicle for something else ie. propaganda, sensationalism ?

ManchestrMorgue 10-28-2007 08:12 PM

I don't think it is a "great" movie by any stretch.

tenebre 10-31-2007 07:57 PM

the only movie i shut off because of it's vileness was men behind the sun, i could stomach all the shit eating in salo and the rape scene in last house but the cat versus the rats scene in MBTS disgusted me.
