Marya Zaleska In Costume Part Two

Here I am as Merlin The Magician at one of my club's year end party!

This is the easiest costume to wear. I just put in on over my regular clothes.

I got a lot of great compliments on the outfit.

Charley's Aunt

http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/f...arleysAunt.jpg

Here I am in costume as the character "Charley's Aunt" from the ever popular play by Brandon Thomas.

I took this costume and made the Granny one from it by adding a granny wig and glasses, a shawl and a corn cob pipe.

The President On The Dollar

http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/f...Washington.jpg

The President On The Dollar - George Washington in my tricon hat!

Generally, I use on my picture for the net. I do not put other persons pictures on unless they give me permission.

I do have a lot of pictures with me and my date, groups, etc. but I do follow the above rule.

I'll post some more later on this week.

Great, that's great.

ferretchucker 09-27-2007 06:43 AM

So, you're a boy. Hmmm. That's put a twist on things.

neverending 09-27-2007 07:28 AM

Haven't been paying attention much, have you?

Great costumes!

ferretchucker 09-27-2007 07:34 AM

Not really. I've just been twidling my thumbs.

Think "The Crying Game", (sort of) the others will understand.

Rayne 09-27-2007 09:08 AM

The Little Lord Fauntleroy and George Washington are my favorites...Excellent costumes...very well-made...And you certainly look the parts :)

Despare 09-27-2007 11:29 AM

BERRIES & CREAM
BERRIES & CREAM

You look just like the little boy who loves berries and creeeeeeeeeeeeeeeam.

missmacabre 09-27-2007 12:02 PM

I love the George Washington costume. Your costumer is a million times more talented than mine, but don't tell her. She's likely to kill me if she finds out I said that.

ferretchucker 09-27-2007 12:44 PM

Good costumes. I think you should, however, find your own person.

neverending 09-27-2007 12:59 PM

Perhaps his own person is someone who dresses up in costumes, eh? Anything wrong with that?

ferretchucker 09-27-2007 01:01 PM

But we've met the characters, I want to know the man who dresses up. Who is he when he isn't in costume.

neverending 09-27-2007 01:03 PM

Read his first costume thread. He gives quite a lot of details about himself.

Haven't been paying attention much, have you?

ferretchucker 09-27-2007 01:05 PM

I read that but I think that from now on, when i read his posts and reviews, I want them done by him. But then, it's his choice.

neverending 09-27-2007 01:06 PM

Yep- it sure is.

I think the reviews might actually be part of that character...Know what I mean?...Like Marya does the reviews?

Think we'll ever get Zero to step out of HIS character? ;)...Hmm

Marya Zaleska 09-27-2007 04:41 PM

[QUOTE=Rayne;632515]I think the reviews might actually be part of that character...Know what I mean?...Like Marya does the reviews?

Yep! The reviews come from from Marya, a princess of the darkness! Dracula's daughter. One who is steeped in horror! A phantom of the dark! One from the dark regions.

It' sets the mood from the description of how I set in my creaky chair or antique sofa, to the drinking of claret wine and the telling of the story ( or in this case) the review! Even the humor is based on the mood and the character.

Using myself or any of my other costume characters really wouldn't fit in. At least not on this forum!

So I am going to keep it going right along as is!

I'm having a ball as well!

No! Think The Unholy Three with Lon Chaney senior was disguised himself as an old woman.

Also Lionel Barrymore in The Devil Doll who also was disguised as an old woman.

I taped it off of TCM channel.

It was the sound version, the last movie that Chaney Senior made before he died.

It was great.

I know that Rayne would like it!

You know, I don't think I have ever seen this one either. I know I saw The Unknown, but I don't remember this one. I will have to look for it to show back up on TCM.

Lon Chaney, Sr In The Unholy Three

http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/f...au/Chaney2.jpg

Here is a picture of Lon Chaney, Senior as Echo, a ventriliquist. This picture is from The Unholy Three with Chaney disguised as an old woman.

Chaney made two versions, one silent and one sound.

The Unholy Three was the only sound picture that Lon Chaney, Sr. made and it was the last he made before his untimely death.

I taped commercial free this one off of Turner Classic Movies.,

I certainly would like to do a review on film this but not tonight. Just got home. has a 12 hour day at work.

It does periodically show up on TCM.

It hasn't been reissued on DVD yet, or at least not to my knowledge. There is so much coming out now on DVD!

Spealking Of Old Ladies

http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/f...eDevilDoll.jpg

The Devil Doll is the film where Lionel Barrymore disguises himself as an old lady shopkeeper.

This is a rarely shown film on TV. It is now available on DVD.

It is an excellent horror film about revenge and downsizing humans.

If you are a true classic horror fan you need have this film in your collection. Be sure to obtain a copy.

I believe that I have already done a review on this. I'll check and if not I will.

Rayne! You will enjoy this one as well!
