Reaper

New show. Starts tonight.

it's directed by Kevin Smith. My friend is in it, playes the main character's younger brother, Kyle.

You should watch it. :)

jenna26 09-25-2007 04:20 PM

I was thinking about it....;)
I have it set to record just in case I don't make it in there in time. It looks funny.

massacre man 09-25-2007 04:21 PM

I'm watching. Because I love Kevin Smith.

missmacabre 09-25-2007 04:55 PM

Yeah Kevin Smith was what sealed the deal for me, too. The man is my hero.

the_man_you_fear 09-25-2007 05:15 PM

yeah that guy is the king of indy flicks

massacre man 09-25-2007 06:30 PM

I loved that first episode, can't wait until next week.

bwind22 09-25-2007 07:25 PM

Yep. I watched it because I heard it was Kevin Smith's project and the idea sounded entertaining. I thought the first episode was great. His best friend remindsa LOT of Jack Black though, which I haven't decided is a good thing or a bad thing yet.

missmacabre 09-26-2007 10:40 AM

I really loved the pilot. Kyle did well, I'm glad some Canadian actors are getting somewhere. What I really loved though was how obvious it was that Kevin Smith had directed it. i was laughing at a lot of little things that only fans of his movies would find funny. Little things like the dirt devil, and how awesome was that zamboni scene? Maybe I only liked that because I see a lot of zambonis but still. Fuckin' sweet show.

missmacabre 09-26-2007 10:41 AM

oh, and did anyone catch Kevin Smith on Letterman last night?

Vodstok 09-26-2007 10:55 AM

I actually think Kevin Smith is a bit of a douchebag, but he has made some incredibly entertaining things in the past.

What killed me about this is how the ads were bragging about how original the concept was.

Except the concept is "Brimstone", only funny. Brimstone meets Dogma. Not terribly original.

I thought Brimstone too, but I also thought I was only one of two or three people that had actually seen that show. ;)

I like Kevin Smith, LOVE Dogma and Clerks. But a couple of his other films I could totally do without.

I was expecting more from Reaper, honestly, but it was entertaining enough. It was funny at times. I will probably continue with it for awhile.

what do you got against kevin smith?

bleeding_angelgirl 09-26-2007 01:06 PM

its hard now adays to be original. almost every thought or idea emaginable has been covered in some way. but i loved the show. sience buffy ended the only show i feel in love with on the obsessive level if supernatural. i cant miss any of that. i wish they would make some good shows for me. criminal minds has becoming one on my list.

I know how you feel. I used to watch Buffy every Tuesday, so now on Tuesdays I feel like there's something I have to do but, no Buffy.

This show fills the gap now... with less vampires.

bleeding_angelgirl 09-26-2007 02:39 PM

i know i rember having that feeling every week anticipating buffy on tuesdays. my heart would skip beats my, my leg would twitch anxiously. i have yet to get that feeling for another show. im hopping supernatural will build up to that. its just as good. but i think the feeling associated with buffy was just because i was in highschool, hated it and needed some thing to look forward to.

Spallalala 10-14-2007 05:49 AM

The first ep caught my attention and now its slowly drifting away. I like the idea but its just not as funny as the first ep was.

Watched the 3rd the other day and wasn't too impressed with it.

the_real_linda 10-29-2007 10:24 AM

ive watched the first 3 eps and found it kinda hard to get through even though im enjoying it.. i think it could be a half hour show

Disease 10-29-2007 10:29 AM

so is it screening in the U.S.A at the moment...?

the_real_linda 10-29-2007 01:26 PM

yep ive got ep4... but i aint bothered to watch it yet... just search for it and itll be around somewher disease :D

Spallalala 10-29-2007 07:43 PM

Yeah Id guess in the states now. i got about 5 eps on the pc. try for torrent sites.

Disease 10-29-2007 08:03 PM

I will do, I hate it when shows start of good but then 3 episodes in you go what the fuck?

But I will definatley check it out...

BESRKA!

the_real_linda 10-30-2007 04:05 AM

guess i aint checked for a week for it....didnt know ep 5 had been shown
guess il go check it out

Disease 10-30-2007 01:28 PM

I just watched the pilot episode, I thought it was good. I probably wouldn't be hanging out for the next one so much though if Kevin Smith wasn't involved. But just the fact that he is means there could be a moment where you nearly die laughing during an episode and it's worth watching in case those moments come along.

the_real_linda 10-30-2007 01:55 PM

i only started and am only continuing watching out of devotion to kevin smith... its pretty good just i watch a lot of shows, i think... so i let episodes of some shows build up for a month or a whole series and watch a lot at once

Disease 11-01-2007 01:53 PM

I do that a lot, watch an entire series in a few days... You start to live it and think that you might see characters at the shop etc... hu ha...

So is the pilot of Reaper and episode 1 the same,, I'm just curious.. or should I go straight to episode 2???

missmacabre 11-01-2007 05:05 PM

Go to two.

I didn't like the last couple of episodes though, they we're okay but not great.

Disease 11-01-2007 11:31 PM

O>K, I'm going to check out episode 2 now.....

Let's see what I think.

Phalanx 11-01-2007 11:49 PM

Episodes 3-5 were a bit weak if you ask me...although the one I just saw (6 I think, the latest?) the halloween episode was really good.
Good recovery there.

Disease 11-02-2007 12:24 AM

Well I tought the second one was o.k. THe Devil is a bit annoying, he doesn't seem like much of an actor.

And is it a different actress playing the love interest than in the pilot?

Hu ha, Harvey Kietel would have been awesome as the Devil, I wish you had never put that in my mind, now I'm going to hate the character even more... Fuck him and his fake tan!

Yeah 3 and 4 weren't that great, I'm up to 5, they just seem to be plodding along...

the_real_linda 11-08-2007 07:27 AM

id rather watch 'dead like me'

massacre man 11-08-2007 11:54 AM

I've loved every episode. :(

Disease 11-19-2007 10:26 AM

I just watched episode 8.

I am always really disappointed with the final battle between Sam and the Demon... There is never much to it when he captures them.. Maybe they could really pump some dramatic music into those endings.. It just seems like an anti-climax.

dewaholic 11-27-2007 08:43 PM

I caught it kind of late. Now though, I make sure to watch every week.

dewaholic 11-27-2007 09:05 PM

Well having gone back & reading this whole thread out of boredom, I see that I only missed a few episodes.

Disease 11-30-2007 10:35 AM

Hmmm, don't you think the cops would be on to them by now.. They leave dna at all these murder scenes... GUILTY!

I guess, I should try harder to shut of the logical side of my brain, but the writers could have taken care of this problem!
