Cruel tale

The thing that creeped me out was when the innocent one was like "it hurttts" poor little hooker.

This was one of my favorite scary movies as a kid. It totally freaked me out. I liked Creepshow 2 better than Creepshow 1. I think the scariest part was when the girl is sleeping on the raft and the guy tries to wake her up. Such a well done shock moment. And of course the very last shot in the segment makes a great ending. Just when you think it's all over.......

I recently read the 1950's EC Tales From The Crypt comic that this was based on (or that Stephen King based his short story on).

It was a fine episode.

And I will never feel comfortable around one of those big green garbage bags again. :)

scared me out of the water in a way JAWS never could. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE JAWS, but I'm not remotely scared of shark attack...but for some reason every time I go into a lake I think of that oilspill/floating blob-thing and get just a little nervous.

i always thought it was great, until the last scene where it turns from a blob into a garbage bag stretched over a tent frame. The entire story makes that forgiveable.

I watched it loads of times when i was a kid.................But i dont remember anything about it now:confused:

Except something about roaches.

Yeah, really good short. When Stephen King is on, he's great. I highly recommend his short The Reaper's Image.

I still think I'm better at writing short horror than he is though...

i always thought it was the best story from creepshow2

by the way, has anyone seen creepshow3, any thoughts?

Creepshow 1 has a roach segment.

Creepshow 2 rocks! I really like the wooden indian who goes on the killing spree....pretty creepy.

"The Raft" is one of my favorite King stories, and the best segment of Creepshow 2. Did you guys realize that the other girl on the raft (with the dark hair; not Daryl Hannah's red-headed sister) is not even listed in the credits? That's what I've heard, anyway; I haven't had a chance yet to check it out myself.

I'd be pretty pissed off if I had half my face eaten away by a glob of goo and didn't even get a screen credit.

3 really isn't that good, it has it's moments. It reminds me of that show that used to be on Nickelodeon when I was younger called "Are You Afraid Of The Dark"

I only watched just so I could say that I have seen it.

actually both the tales from the crypt comic and the raft were based on a stephen king short story he did back in college, which he lost his original and couldn't get a copy of the magazine that it was printed in, and then re-wrote it and placed the short story in Bag Of Bones, which was a collection of his short stories

It was okay except for the nudity. There weren't very many kills, but there weren't very many people to get killed anyway. The kills that it had were pretty good, but the last one wasn't all that good because they didn't even show it

The Raft was actually in Skeleton Crew, I believe. Bag of Bones was a novel, one of my favorites by King, though many didn't care for it. :)

hmmm.... wait was bag of bones the one where it had the guy who's wife died of a.......i forget the term..... vein pop in her head, right in the beginning, and hes a writer? or was that another one.... god... i've read so many i forgot which title is which... wait or was that book title the one with something that had to do with water? and not the mist, I know what that one is, its one of my favorites.

I love when the girl is sleeping on the boat dock, and the blob thing gets through wood, and then sticks to the chicks face.

just remember boys and girls, when a mass of murderous toxic waste is chasing you make sure when you get to shore to run at 100 yards from the water b/f gloating.
