The Horror Stars Tournament
The recently concluded Movie Series/Franchise tournament had many horror franchises battling it out for supremacy...some powered by their ingenuity...others powered by absolute star-power. Since the 1930s, many actors and actresses have managed to carve themselves huge niches in the horror genre, and most have gone on to pursue bigger careers in it.
Today horror is a multi-faceted genre. And it is simply because no successful horror movie is complete without a stand-out performance. This tournament is shaped to pit some of the biggest stars of this incredible genre against each other...to see who is crowned as the King and Queen of horror. The tournament is divided into two Parts. The first Part covers nearly most of the actors who made themselves Legends or Badasses in horror...while the second Part deals with Scream Queens & Vamps which have terrorised and stolen the hearts of many horror fans alike... There are innumerable stars of Hollywood which glitter the genre. So I took a cut-off point of at least 4 movies in which the star has performed a thrilling or horrific role on-screen...so if you feel that a particular star should be included in this tournament, feel free to PM me rightaway...but no questions in the tournament thread, please. John Saxon has met up with Freddy Krueger and Bruce Lee. Plus, he was in Tenebre. Anybody who's in both Argento and Bruce Lee movies deserves major props. Saxon for me, although I do like Sutherland a lot.

Hopkins is great; Hannibal Lecter aside, his whacked-out performance in Magic is enough to qualify him for genre star status alone.
But, I'm going to go with Byrne. There's just something really dark and edgy about that dude, plus he can deliver a line like nobody's business. |
