Who doesnt like Evil Dead?

I have been reading the thread for Ash in FvJ 2 and alot of people dont like Ash. I dont think Ash is right for the movie. but

HE's ASH!!!! COME ON PEOPLE. HE IS MOVIE BAD ASS SUPREME. HE HAS A FUCKING CHAINSAW FOR A HAND. not even leather face can top that.

Digital Murders 01-10-2004 12:02 PM

I hate Evil Dead.

VampRocker 01-10-2004 12:10 PM

I love Evil Dead. Ash was a great character, and if you don't agee...then, well...

evil dead is a horror staple.......the only reason you probably dont like it is becasue it was under budget and kinda goofy

but hell that is why i thought it was great!!!!!!!!!who's with me??

i dont however think that ash should be in FvJ2....why you ask....because ash has nothing to do with either and they would have to stretch really fuking far to put him in........plus how are they gonna get him outta midievil times

Ritualistic 01-10-2004 01:39 PM

I dont like the idea of Ash (the character) being in FvJ2 but if Bruce plays another character that would be cool, but it isnt up to us.. So I am not worried.. However the question about liking evil dead.. well I do.. fucking awesome movies.. BUT I prefer "The Evil Dead" over all of them..

The first Evil Dead is my favorite of the series as well, a lot of people on here seem to like the second one best and though it has it's moments the gore in it pales in comparison to the first.

I find it difficult to understand how it is humanly possible for any horror fan to dislike evil dead :)

VampRocker 01-10-2004 04:19 PM

You've seen the end of Army of Darkness, right?
Plus, it's not THAT much of a stretch to get Ash involved. At least no more of a stretch than it was linking Freddy and Jason. After all, again, the Necronomicon was in Jason Goes to Hell.

xshiny_demonx 01-10-2004 05:20 PM

...i think the evil dead trilogy is supreme, the first to...when i first watched em...it was like u where in hell w/ the demented laugh...2nd one...got even better...and the 3rd, funny as fuck! if ash was apart of FvsJ...i dont see how he could loose. but i mean...he does seem sorta outta place, and in army of darkness...there was really 2 ending...the one where he over sleeps...and the one where he is back at S-mart and blows that witch bitch away. but i personally think if he is in there...the fucking director wont try to be to creative w/ how he is in the mix up...im guessing he will just be thown in...maybe make like the cabin...close to crystal lake...even then...u wont be able to do the evil dead trilogy justice. its a hard subject to stand on, it would be a really exciting thing to see and prepare to see, i only hope its not a big let down as u leave the theater.

D'Lo 01-10-2004 06:08 PM

Well, the 3 Evil Dead movies are probably among my favourite movies of all time. The Ash character is, in my opinion, one of the best and most hilarious characters ever. But I do have my doubts if Ash should be in F Vs J Part 2. I mean, it would be great to see Bruce Campbell as Ash again, but I don't know if this sequel would be the best way to make his return. However, Bruce has said numerous times there probably won't ever be an Evil Dead 4, so maybe this would be the only chance to see Ash ever again in a new movie...

VampRocker 01-10-2004 06:14 PM

Is any of this true? Of Ash being in Freddy vs. Jason? Or is it something we're all just fantasizing about?

Either way, it's no problem...

Ash will kick both of their asses!

Sam The Egg 01-10-2004 06:21 PM

Why shouldn't Ash be in FvJ2? He'd mesh with the characters so well. Be it trading one-liners with Freddy (TELL ME that wouldn't be awesome! There's not a Freddy or an Ash fan here that can), or running away from Jason. The movie might be good WITHOUT Ash, but it would certainly kick copious amounts of ass with him.

My sentiments exactly...The deadites are much more impressive than Jason...Compared to them, Jason would be an easy kill...Then Ash and Freddy get to go at it mano a mano...That would totally rock!:)

Sam The Egg 01-10-2004 06:47 PM

also, with Ash, they could atone for the failed "OMG, this is gonna kick ass!" moment in Jason X where the guy brought out his 'updated' sex bot to fight Jason. Jason is about to kill the main female character- but wait!- suddenly a cheesy one-liner is said off-screen! Could it be? Yeah, Ash survived whatever horrible thing happened, and a reveal shot shows that he has his chainsaw hand for the first time in the movie!
Or how about another 'Groovy' scene, where Ash realizes that he can take advantage of the 'dream world' physics?
I tells ya, this stuff writes its self.

ShamSham04 01-10-2004 06:57 PM

Ash is an unentertaining dumbass.

The original "Evil Dead" was good, IMO. Not the greatest, not even great, but good.

I find this funny.

People say they would like to have smart characters in horror movies, but they praise Ash. If this were to be a court case, you'd be objecting yourself! He's not funny, his character's dialogue sucks, and his one-liners are totolly pathetic. I hate him.

And that's my opinion. :p

MichaelMyers 01-10-2004 07:07 PM

Sham, you're a Chucky fan and think Ash's one-liners suck...? ;)

Chucky and Ash are completely different characters.

Besides, you know how many horror characters there are out there with one-liners? Not all of them are good, and Ash is no exception.

Sorry, Shammy, Ash is popular amongst horror fans. He's like the Ric Flair of horror, except Ash could decapitate Flair with his chainsaw

Nicely put.

Hopefully he will be The Sting of horror and not jump ship into Freddy vs. Jason territory.

Sam The Egg 01-10-2004 08:53 PM

Ah, but Evil Dead has folded, and there's no NWATNA of horror for him to go to.

I'd like to think the indie's were NWA. And he's scoring points there.

Sam The Egg 01-10-2004 09:24 PM

wait, yes, there is an NWA, and its name is Bubba Ho-Tep. But, like Sting, there are rumors that he will go to where the bigger money is. I don't blame him, and its roster would produce better matches than a mummy attacking some old-folks home.

Well, Sting has never disappointed me in the past. Let's hope I will be able to say the same for BC in the future.

Sam The Egg 01-10-2004 09:29 PM

Ah, but going with the big money doesn't necissarily mean that the quality is lessened. Sting could make it work if the management were better, and if handled right, BC in FvsJ2 could work, too.
Besides, him being Sting all rests on the rumors being false. If he goes with the big money, he's Ric Flair. And history will always say that Ric Flair was the greatest, not Sting.

In the case of the WWF...er E, it does. They would just destroy Sting like they have every other WCW star. What exactly are they doing with Steiner again? Why did they stop Booker's push? I don't want to see BC in FvsJ2, but, like you said, maybe with the right people it could work...Nah.

Sam The Egg 01-10-2004 09:35 PM

They would ruin Sting, but Sting isn't there. Remember, Ric Flair is there, Sting isn't. I think the metaphor is getting a little skewed.

Um...I thought we dropped the metaphor and were actually talking about the real Sting.

oh. I thought the entire conversation was just one big metaphor for sex

If you don't like my opinion, I can respect that. But there is absolutely no reason for you to laugh in my face about it. Everyone has a different opinion, so get over it.

Why are you apologizing? I realize Ash is highly popular, and I can handle that. I can take in other people's opinions...unlike other members on here.
