David Bowie - Ginger Genius

So far I haven't heard a David Bowie Song that I haven't enjoyed. Space Oddity, Life on Mars, even the little drummer boy that he sung with Bing Crosby (Who happens to be my great grandads cousin). Just wondered what songs by him you lot liked?

Five Years

One day everyone Bowie has ripped off will come and kick his ass. I like how he adopts trends in music and ends up with the credit of inventing them. He's the Warhol of music.... fuck him.

:)

ch-ch-ch-ch-changes!

Man, go out and get the "Best of Bowie" CD. It's cheap and PERFECT for the budding Bowie fan. It has all his major songs plus a few others - I love it.

My personal favourites (barring the ones that have been mentioned) would have to be Ashes to Ashes, Ziggy Stardust, Suffragette City, Golden Years and - of course! - Heroes.

Hey, have you seen The Man Who Fell to Earth? I didnt really enjoy the movie that much, but Bowie plays the lead role in it and he's amazing. Very slow movie, but worth seeing just for him.

He's also great in The Prestige.

Noooooooooooo!

"best of" give you the songs in the wrong context - his albums are great and should be digested whole:D

I only like 70's Bowie. However one of my Holy Grails of skateboards is a Jason Lee - Bowie Tribute

This Blind deck NOS(new old stock) is close to $2,000 dollars.

I like Bowie, all his early material. The thing that annoys me is Mick Ronson made all those Ziggy songs great. He got no writing credit, but all those hooks are Ronson. He died a pauper and Bowie wouldn't have been Bowie without him.

If you want to check out Bowie at his acting finest, watch 'Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence'

And 'The Glass Spider' tour was his best IMHO. I think the songs were tight and he was professionally and artistically at his peak.

Sorry, I saw this extravaganza at Giants Stadium. Squeeze blew Bowie away, and this tour was like a bad Las Vegas act. I know Bowie fanatics that gave their tickets away after seeing that crap.

I love Bowie and him in Labrynth of course. Some of my fav songs by him are more 80s but I love China Girl, Let's Dance and Modern Lover. When I saw Rob Thomas in concert he did a cover of Let's Dance it was really, reaaly great!

Now the "Let's Dance" tour was excellent. I saw him every night at the Garden for that one, and each was spectacular.

stubbornforgey 05-23-2007 06:45 PM

Thats it..sorrow!!
the song was sorrow!!:p

vanlutz 05-23-2007 07:49 PM

SORROW - Bowie does a great version of that song. Have you ever heard the Prissteens version? It rocks!
