Funniest Editing for Television

Mothman just reminded me that last night while I was watching The Big Lebowski on tv when the line; "this is what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass" comes around it's changed to; "this is what happens when you find a stranger in the alps". I thought it was hysterically funny and wondered what other movies get a funny/odd edit for television. Know of any?

Kill Bill v.1 has a funny edited bar fight scene.... Or... not a fight scene.

The Mothman 04-17-2007 05:07 PM

I forgot most everything that was said, but i was watching Menace II Society on BET the other night (lol) and it hads some funny edits.

I can see Menace on BET but what station bothered attempting to play Kill Bill Vol. 1? That right there is funny IMO.

Wow....that was quite the edit. I never watch movies on TV.Between the commercials and editing it just ain't worth it.

Yeah, I was on the computer and my movie just ended... left the channel on and finished off TBL for some fun. Ever used to tape movies off tv? Forget to skip the commercials and then bust out the tape 12 years later only to laugh and reminisce at them?

That's what mine usually were. Family tapes of the Disney movie, what was that called... The Wonderful World of Disney? They played a different movie every week or so. I loved th Boogity Man... wish I had that one on dvd heh.

i think in diehard 2 they place a black man's voice over bruce willis's when he says" fuck" in alot of his lines . they switch the whole line with the black dude talking

Ditto. Especially if I haven't seen it before. It feels incomplete...I don't know what I missed or how it's been softened.

I used to tape some of the shows I liked...Whose Line is it Anyway?, The Drew Carey Show etc. Sometimes an occasional movie, but since they flooded em with commercials and edited the good stuff out, I ve stopped watchin em on TV.

Just whip the player out, pop a DVD in, and grab the beer. Thats me.:D

"Muddy Funster!" has apparently replaced "Motherfucker!" in both Lethal Weapon and Die Hard on UK TV.

Silence of the Lambs: "I can smell your... scent!" (not "cunt")

The Terminator: (not "fuck you", but...) "Go and disco, dude!"

Despare 04-18-2007 08:44 AM

Go and Disco?? Muddy Funster? lol
The go and disco one cracks me up for some reason, I think it's a better fit.

PR3SSUR3 04-18-2007 03:12 PM

lol yes, in the nightclub scene.

Elvis_Christ 04-18-2007 05:31 PM

I always liked how they changed "motherfucker" in Repo Man to "mellonfarmers".

TV stations over here haven't bothered editing movies since the mid 90s. But you still have to put up with commercials.
