CUBE don't watch it

who the hell recomended this crap? total shit you got the bad ass black guy.

the white guy that won't tell you anything til later,
the "escape artist" who gets him self killed with his over confidence,
the female doctor that you can't wait to get killed,
the girl that leads you on the right path until she needs your help,
and big shocker the savant that is the real key to the puzzle.
some of the camer work was like a tv movie shaking to make the room look as if it is shaking
just too typical
not recomended

PR3SSUR3 04-15-2007 12:59 PM

You simply must try harder, that's all.

Posher778 04-15-2007 01:03 PM

Cube is amazing. I'd HIGHLY recommend it to ANYONE despite their tastes, and most of the forum probably would also, at least the people i know.

alkytrio666 04-15-2007 01:04 PM

And it's Cube, not "The Cube".

You wouldn't call Hostel "The Hostel, You wouldn't call Psycho "The Psycho", you don't call Cube "The Cube".

...Just a little nitpicking.

There is a short movie called "The Cube."It was made by"Jim Henson" in (1969):)

I thought "Cube" was a very good sci-fi/horror flick.

Cube is an intelligent and original Horror/Sci Fi movie imho so my advice to anyone who has yet to see it would be.......Cube,DO watch it.

chaibill 04-15-2007 03:38 PM

spoiler!!!!!!!!!!!!
we are talking about the one where the guys are stuck in the cube device and they try to get out and die trying. what did you think of the characters i think if i saw it when it came out i would have liked it but by todays standards i think it misses the bar
not saying the movies on my list go above the bar posher just have to put that in or he might wet him self

and dracula 2000 i liked because they added the history to drac be fore vlad the impaler i only saw it once thogh so may be it is shit i dont know

The Mothman 04-15-2007 07:51 PM

i loved cube. havnt seen any of the sequels, but the original is one that once you start you cant help but finish.

Despare 04-15-2007 07:53 PM

Hmmm, what would I say about this one?

A room with four walls and four doors and seven people contained within. It doesn't sound exciting, but fortunately for Cube those four doors lead to an entertainment experience that a lot of movies with ten times the budget can't match. Through each door is another room, another cube. Inside each of these rooms could lie a trap which will violently end all life that enters. The traps themselves are deliciously evil and from the first scene we see what horrors the Cube has to offer. Luckily for the seven individuals trapped inside the Cube they each possess a talent that can be used to escape certain death and lead them to safety... as long as they work together. Being human beings however, those who are trapped begin to become suspicious and accusatory toward each other which becomes the beginning of the end and seals the fate for many of those inside. I won't give the ending away but it's one of those films where the ending can make or break the entire movie for you. Don't expect deep and multi-dimensional characters. It's not the acting that takes center stage here but rather the emotions suggested by the choices that the characters make. This one doesn't throw buckets of blood at the viewer but the gore that is shown doesn't fail to impress. If you're interested in a low budget, suspenseful movie with a dark atmosphere and bleak attitude toward human nature then you've found it.

Watch them all...Seriously...Cube Zero is better than Hypercube...But, the original Cube can't be outdone

smo_go1 04-16-2007 12:31 AM

Cube is a legendary film :) i still neeeeed to see number two though :(

slayer666 04-16-2007 02:38 AM

I loved Cube and thought Cube 2 was worth watching. On the other hand, I was not a big fan of Cube Zero.

I have not see Cube Zero yet but Hypercube did not follow up well at all I think but I agree with the rest of you that Cube was a cool movie. I had totally looked forward to Hypercube but was prettty let down, I am still tryn to catch Cube Zero at some point soon.

crabapple 04-17-2007 10:25 AM

I really want to call it "The Cube." I think it would be more fun that way! Can I call it "The Cube"? Just for a little while...?

_____V_____ 04-17-2007 10:50 AM

Ok...but only for a little while. ;)

chaibill 04-17-2007 11:37 AM

I don't think even the word "the" could save this movie. Check some of the reviews on rottontomatoes ,not everyone likes it. something about the "airlock" on the doors bothered me. if they are in a stuckture wouldn't the air pressure be the same what would be the point of the air lock?

Roderick Usher 04-17-2007 11:58 AM

I'll agree the acting and characterizations were pretty weak, but the concept is strong and the execution isn't bad. I wouldn't call it awesome, but it's a good time. Pure low-budget exploitation and great use of a single (they only made 1 cube) set. I'd give it a C+

not really interested enough to check out the follow-ups.

chaibill 04-17-2007 12:06 PM

i'll say it is a good idea that had a bad director and bad casting and bad dialog

the_real_linda 04-17-2007 01:11 PM

great film, great casting....nicole de boer and david hewlett....sci-fi casting greatness....not all questions need answering, it makes this film what it is....amazing

chaibill 04-17-2007 02:01 PM

i wasn't disapointed in the storey just the way it was told stale boring and typical this is not good writing , who has glass eyeglass lenses?, that first guy to die is just so you don't forget the name of the movie CUBE(d) he was cubed get it.

what kind of wire was that anyway must have been made from superman's hair to cut through bone like that.

And the bad ass black guy only gets his leg cut amazing how he was so fast didn't get his leg cut off. see it lacks logic even in its own world.

And again if i was 16 or 17 when i saw it i think i would have liked it but at 27 it is just full of holes that hurt the film too much. i know SAW had some holes in it too but the end was great had great camera workand music exempt for the head trap and just the fact that these guys were film students an dthey made a better film then most could

the_real_linda 04-17-2007 02:27 PM

i was 10-ish when i saw it and have loved it ever since....but age definatley matters.....always got to watch them when ur young to love them.....its the way it usually works for me....cause the film holds a special memory of the past for ya

Riff 04-17-2007 02:40 PM

One of the best paranoid movies ever made. I didn't think the second one lived up to the first, but I enjoyed Cube Zero and how they interwove the plot with the original.

yeah and the Fast and the Furious was the best movie ever made

missmacabre 04-19-2007 05:27 AM

Unfortunately I saw Cube 2 first. However I was luck enough to see Cube on tv a few weeks later and watched it despite my dislike of the sequels.

I really loved Cube. It put me on edge a bit because like Riff said, it was a paranoia movie. You never know what the're walking into in the next room of the cube. I would recommend Cube to just about anyone but my math teacher didn't approve of it as my suggestion for a educational math movie.

bleeding_angelgirl 04-19-2007 12:39 PM

i liked the first dube not enough to buy it but it was good the second on sucked i couldent even watch all of it, but this is only my opininon

I think you're in the minority on this one...

_____V_____ 04-19-2007 09:46 PM

Too bad you dont have a higher regard of the movie. I suggest you watch Cube and Cube Zero again (give Hypercube a skip, you wont miss much), with an open mind, and see if you cant change your opinion of the movie.

To each their own, I guess.

Yeah. What she said.

Cryptkeeper 04-20-2007 09:24 PM

I also liked "Cube". I have not seen the the other 2 because I know I will be let down. I never heard of the movie when I saw it for the first time on the sci-fi channel, and once I started watching it, I could not stop. I think it's one of those movies you either love it or hate it.
