For anyone who was wondering where I have been:


Bree and I put our house on the market last week (we have already had 2 showings, today in fact)

We are packing up and heading south once this place sells (Research Triangle area in NC, most likely just outside Raliegh)

I got a SWEET job as an independant contractor (programmer) for a company out of virginia. The pay is almost what I made at my las job, and I work from home now, so I spend almost all of my time working or with my family, hence not spending really any time here.

I make my own hours, and do something I really enjoy now, so Life is pretty good. I finally made it out to an actual theater on friday, and boy was it worth it. I saw 300 on a big screen, and I am really glad I did.

Just as long as you don't migrate away like the rest!

BTW-NC is totally low on the cost of living scale-no shit.
We just looked at a 6 bedroom for about $300,000!

But at the beach the costs are still fucking people in the ass, but what do expect...it's the beach*shrug*

Nova, cost of living was a huge consideration. The overall COL in the Raliegh area is 13.4% lower than where I am now!

Great news Vod. You really can't put a value on doing something you enjoy for a living.

A few years ago I took a 50% pay cut to go and work in Spain teaching English for a couple of years. Only just enough money to get by, but the value of the whole lifestyle far outweighed the pay cut. I feel much richer for the experience.

Glad you enjoyed 300 as well. I went to the cinema for the first time in ages to see it the other night - it's definitely one of those films you've got to see big screen!

I'm thinking of going again for Grindhouse and Sunshine.

Thanks everyone! I got my first paycheck today, and boy was it sweet! Being my own boss has turned out to be better than I thought.

I wrote an article for a guy who I now have to yell at because i havent seen a penny for it yet, but that is small potatoes.
