Must say Kraken has a pretty neat cover. I ll see if I can get em both, Rod.

(and you better be ready to autograph em, cuz you owe that to me)

:D

Hey Rod, Netflix just recommended Gryphon to me, but is it actually called Attack of the Gryphon? That's what Netflix is calling it & also what it says on the package, but you have always just said Gryphon & that's also what imdb has it titled. And where's the Mammoth DVD? I've already seen these 2 and I can't seem to track down Mammoth yet.

It was called Gryphon when it aired, but it's being sold on DVD as Attack of the Gryphon don't ask me, I have no damn clue. I thought it was going to be "Attack of the" all along.

As for Mammoth, sorry I don't have any news for you. I'd love to see it again and it is certainly the very best film in which I've had any input. It's a wonderfully silly film that skewers the SciFi Channel set-up in a big fun way. But I've heard nothing about a potential release date.

bwind22 04-02-2007 11:53 PM

Ok thanks. I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on the tv listings each week & hope they replay it.

I wrote 'em:o Crappy gigs for the SciFi Channel that I did a few years ago.

Not proud, because they suck, but I had been asked to inform some as to when these gems would be available on DVD.

in light of how many writers go unplublished i would be pretty happy with that. i'm sure this and other sites like it are the only forums where you'll find fans of peter jacksons early work. generally speaking, dead alive isn't that respected. i'll keep a note of those titles and try and pick them up. let us know of any forthcoming projects:cool:

Kane_Hodder 04-03-2007 10:15 AM

Wow its cool to meet a fellow member who is actually a script writer in Hollywood. Those films look interesting too. Any idea if they are/will be available in India, Roderick? I hope you reply back soon.

Doc Faustus 04-03-2007 10:46 AM

Pretty sweet. Kraken is one of the only horror movies that's also a Tennyson poem. And it's probably much better than Bloodtide, the last kraken movie I saw. That movie was an epic waste of James Earl Jones. Plus, squids of all kinds are awesome and deadly. I might buy this.

crabapple 04-03-2007 11:07 AM

Wha.......no VHS?

be forewarned - these movies are TERRIBLE. Anything fun or inventive was stripped from the script and the special effects are only special in the "short bus" way.

The_Return 04-03-2007 04:08 PM

Good to hear man...Ive been looking forward to checking these out. No offence, but I'll probably just rent 'em for now.

Will you see any of the DVD revenue?

None taken - I wouldn't buy one.:)

And no, I'll never see another penny from these. The contracts are specifically created to generate cash for the producers. Everyone else just gets a meager payday and, even more important, a produced credit.

Kane_Hodder 04-03-2007 11:30 PM

My question stands, Roderick. Will these be available in India? I dont know if I can order them from amazon.com because the conversion rates can make them very expensive for me.

Try Ebay. That'd probably be your best bet. Or any other website you usually are able to use to buy American movies.

For anyone interested, I've seen both of these & I prefered Kraken over Gryphon purely based on entertainment value, but you should still check them both out. (And if anyone hears about Mammoth running on cable in the future, let me know.)

Sorry, I have no idea how they will be sold. I'm not at all involved in that aspect.

Posher778 04-04-2007 07:12 AM

Yeah, he wouldn't know. He just gets oscars from big octopi!

<Whoever posted that addition equation with those pictures is the funniest person alive>

But anyway, glad to hear about your success. I'll buy Kraken just because... yeah.

Kane_Hodder 04-04-2007 08:47 AM

Thank you. I will see if I can get both around here. The best bet is to wait for the dubbed copies to arrive on CD. Once those are released, the originals arent far behind.

ferretchucker 04-04-2007 09:17 AM

Wow, i knew you wrote but i thought you meant those things they show ate
4:00am to fill out space on zone horror. I am definetely gonna check these out so i can say to my friends as I show it to them, "I have had conversations with the guy who wrote this."

They do look interesting and whatever you say, if they're selling them on amazon they're worth a look.
