scream v halloween
this poll stems from a debate that originated in the suspiria thread
|
I don't think this poll will be very close.
|
Obviously Halloween is the better if the two. Although Scream comes in very close. I really enjoyed Scream and it is by far one of my favorite horror movies of all time. Scream is one of those movies where I can watch all day and never get sick of it. Halloween gets very old after awhile.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
...Halloween. |

i love scream so much but its gotta be halloween

honestly. if you voted scream....nevermind.

I see the people who voted for scream didn't write anything, What are you afraid off?
I say, halloween! |
I am not really a fan of the scream films, at all. But then again, I don't think the scream films were trying to be anything more than entertaining, somewhat tongue-in-cheek horror spoof films with a hard gory edge. And on that level, they work fine.
As for the Halloween series, I liked Episode 1 (A New Hope) because it established everything. 2 was a good sequel--got better with age, in my opinion, as I hated it the first time I saw it. 3 had nothing to do with Michael Myers but was very imaginative while also being kind of cheesy, so it rates at least a 5 out of 10 for me. The other Halloween movies...well, let's not talk about those. |
scream!!!!!!!!

a new hope??????

no one would want a #1 in a series be referred to as a Phantom Menace |

Seriously though, back that up. |

do horror movies have to be either old or exceptional to have any soul? a lot of new movies tick most of the boxes but still are a great steaming pile of shite. although i know an example is totally surplus, how about Hostel
|
Wow, it's like people think their choice is in direct correlation to penis size or something. Being a woman, I really don't care :P I voted Halloween and, honestly, to me these two films are in such different classes that it's like putting up....Animal House against Earnest Goes to Camp. Just my opinion. Scream was cute and fun, but a classic....I don't know. I enjoyed it, don't get me wrong, I just don't see them as being in the same genre. Like Shaun of the Dead and Dawn of the Dead.

I voted for Halloween because that's the movie I PREFER. I guess people aren't allowed to have an opinion anymore. Go ahead... just ask me to back up my choice...

You're right, it was too much of me to ask for someone to back up their choice. |

People can have opinions, just not ridiculously idiotic ones! |
Without Halloween there would be no Scream :p

why are we even debating this? Scream vs. Halloween? there's no fight because Halloween is completely and utterly supreme to Scream.
1. the score is the most excellent of all horror movies(in my opinion). music is one the most essential factors in making a movie even remotely creepy, and Scream's score does not do that. 2. Halloween was completely original, the first of it's kind. Scream was not, it basically spoofed everything before it. 3. Michael Myers is the shit, and the two jackasses in Scream (can't even remember their names they sucked so bad). 4. Halloween had 'Don't Fear the Reaper' in its soundtrack. and when Scream played 'School's Out' as background music they didn't even bother to get the best version of it......Alice Cooper! |

all i was trying to say was that Scream doesn't even come close to being as awesome as Halloween. that's just my opinion, however, i do know that a lot of people share this same opinion. so i'm not really going to feel bad about what i said. not trying to start anything, just replying. |
I am going to vote Halloween. Scream is watchable but I would not consider it scary. Myers is definatly more visually scary, his whole image and attitude can freak you out. Scream well I find the scream mask has just become comedy. However I did like that you didnt know who the killer was in Scream but as I said Myers definatly more scary. The whole atmosphere of Halloween was more creepy. I consider both to be good films but over all Halloween is better IMO.

This is the most pointless poll I have ever seen. The out come is so obvious.
|
Halloween. Scream doesnt even come close to John Carpenter's classic slasher.
