What should i get?

My mom said if I order a film for her off deepdiscount, I get one that she'll pay for. What horror film should I get? I can't think clearly about it for some reason. Any thing you guys know i'll like...

bloody_ribcut 03-17-2007 12:33 PM

the better question is, what is your mom gonna get..

bwind22 03-17-2007 12:49 PM

Well.... What ones do you already have? I guess that'd be my first question.

I'd say Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original) and if you already have it, then Dawn of the Dead (original) and if you already have it, then Battle Royale.

Posher778 03-17-2007 12:52 PM

My mom is getting Shane for my grandma, but I decided to get Dog Soldiers, so i'll be closer to having all of my top 10. Good choice I think.

Despare 03-17-2007 12:52 PM

Just in addition to Bwind's suggestions, if you get Dawn of the Dead make sure you get the ultimate edition.

Heh, I almost suggested Dog Soliders but from your top 10 assumed you had it. DOH

Posher778 03-17-2007 12:55 PM

My next will probably be Alien 3... Or... Aliens

Posher778 03-17-2007 12:57 PM

Shit, i'd buy Alien 3 first just because of the coolest cover EVER

When you buy Aliens, be sure to get the special edition...it includes alot of extra scenes that Jim Cameron originally wanted in the movie, but he was forced to cut out (due to its already lengthy runtime). The extra scenes add alot to an already fabulous movie. You learn a bit more about Ripley's past, the daughter she left behind, Newt's history, etc...

What about Alien 3? I really just want the regular one because it has that amazing cover.

I own Alien, Aliens, and Alien³ all with the extended director's cut versions. Not sure you will like the cover art as much, but the added material really makes the films even better (especially the 2nd and 3rd films).

By the way, what is the cover on the 3rd film you like?

Bah....get BOTH covers. :p

Posher778 03-17-2007 06:21 PM

The collecters cover is pathetic looking

The thing is, I wish the 3rd was just like that, only just saying Alien (cubed) and the picture, with a pitch black background.

A black magic marker maybe? :D

Posher778 03-17-2007 06:28 PM

I would never desecrate a dvd cover, lol.

Unaboner3000 03-17-2007 06:30 PM

I had a similar situation when I bought the descent. I wanted the unrated, widescreen version rather than the theatrical release, but the theatrical release has a bad ass cover:

In the end I bought the unrated version and had to settle for this:

What about it?? It was a mediocre sequel to a pretty good sequel to a classic. It's cover art is pretty cool.

Take a real good look at the" Death's Head Moth"on the cover of "Silence of the Lambs.";)

Posher778 03-17-2007 06:53 PM

The thing that's mediocre is the Alien. It moves so... monkey/wolf like. Stupid. Great kills in the infirmary at that one scene.

alkytrio666 03-17-2007 07:02 PM

Well I'll be damned! I just slipped the DVD out of my shelf to take a peak, and what do you know...there's more to the moth than meets the eye! I had never noticed that.

I do apologize Paws. That's pretty cool.

Posher778 03-17-2007 07:03 PM

I already have 1 and 4 though. Boxsets are too expensive for little old me.
