I Know Who Killed Me

The thread about this movie in the Modern section got me to thinking.

If you were murdered and were granted one chance to come back, for one day and find your killer, would you even know where to start?

No no, you would come back and not be dead yet. Everything would be just like the day it happened. You'd have to figure it out before you died again.

VampiricClown 03-06-2007 05:31 PM

Actually, I stole it from a video game.

Shadow Of Destiny

One of my personal favorites.

I liked the fact that it gave you the freedom to do things your own way without being the same type of game as GTA.

They need to develop more of those good "adventure" type games. I'm tired of all of the shooters...

Indigo Prophecy was really good. I never finished it because I only had it on a rental, but that was a fantastic adventure game.

The STE 03-06-2007 09:15 PM

probably some random shooting from someone wanting to be a Thugg Gangsta

Disease 03-06-2007 09:33 PM

I'd probably just do the opposite to everything I did that day in the first place , hence not being killed.

stubbornforgey 03-07-2007 02:45 AM

I would go to the last person who would ever be suspected of killing me and ask them why..?

I'll make sure to steer clear of that one then! Thanks for the warning. (I thought Versus SUCKED!)

I'm a bit confused with the hypothetical question being posed here. Would we know that we die and are getting a 2nd chance? (If so, we'd more than likely know who killed us right?) Or do we die and then just wake up to the same day starting over with no knowledge of how the first attempt at the day played out?

You would get killed by an unknown attacker from behind, never seeing them. You die and get a second chance knowing that you have been killed and have one more day to live and fix things, but you can't just wait it out. Kind of like the movie Groundhog Day. Only you would perish if you didn't get everything right the second time around. Would you have any clue as to where to start?

Unless I'm missing some key piece of this, it seems relatively easy to me...

I'd go to the spot where I was killed with a gun, but stand the opposite direction and keep an eye on my watch. Once it got to within like 10 seconds of the time I was killed, I cock the hammer and wait. Then when I saw someone running towards me with a weapon brandished, boom.

But I feel like I'm missing something because that seems to be such an obvious answer.

If they were to see you standing there with a gun, they may avoid you for a little bit and maybe poison your food after that because they couldn't get to you with a weapon. Avoid the next problem and another one appears.

Eliminate the problem...
If you don't have the guts to kill the person (even though you know they'll off you eventually) then set them up and make sure they're put away for a long time.

stubbornforgey 03-07-2007 09:21 AM

Ah ok.
Now I am understanding the game.
Hrm'
What if your assailant was just a random act of unprovoked violence
and there were a multitude of ppl involved.?
Or it was some anon person who say like ..cut the brakes on your car.?

If it was a random act then why, if avoided, would happen again? You can't dodge death forever and if you're randomly selected twice to be killed then I suppose you can't fight it forever. Wouldn't living in the shadow of death every second of every day ruin your life anyway? Why struggle to save something that isn't worth saving?

VampiricClown 03-07-2007 09:24 AM

I think everyone has sort of gotten off track here. The point was, would you know where to start as to any idea, right now, as who would wish for your death to find them? Would you even have an idea of where to start?

never looked at it in that perspective.
Lets try another angle then.

I know who killed me and I have been given a 2nd chance to save myself.
I suppose I would come back and just play dead.

So you wouldn't remember how you died then? I don't think I'd have a clue so I guess I would only trust a couple of people, nobody wishes me dead that I can think of so I would have to be veeeeeeery paranoid.

Time to add locks to my bedroom door. :o

No thats cheating.
You are aware of who killed you and you have been given a 2nd chance to
come back and try and see if you can avoid being killed by this person.
What would you do differently.?

Posher778 03-07-2007 12:14 PM

I wouldn't seek revenge, I would go see my family, friends, hometown, and six flags before being dead again. And... if the killer was a softie i'd buy him an ice cream as a bribe... with a grenade in it...

bwind22 03-07-2007 11:37 PM

I'd just leave town for a day.
