Popular Actors You Don't Like?
 

Ok i was just scanning the movie listings for the forthcoming week and i found myself dismissing certain movies just because of the actors appearing in them,not because i think these actors are poor but because i just don't like them for some untangible reason.
Does anybody else dislike an actor/actress who are popular maybe even considered the best actor/actress of their generation?Will you pass on a movie just because said actor/actress is appearing in it?
Three actors that i don't like are...
Richard Gere.
Robert Redford.
Jack Nicholson.
All of these have won or been nominated for Academy Awards but i just can't warm to them.So who do you dislike?

Why the hell all the hate for Bob Redford?! One of the greatest, in my opinion. I also think Tom Cruise is good, but I guess all that matters these days are personal lives...

Don't know what it is about Redford he just doesn't do it for me,i don't mind Cruise and for those who suggested Hanks well i don't mind him either strangely enough.One other actor i dislike(this will ruffle some feathers) is.......

Not quite sure,its not that i think he is a bad actor(although many of his performances seem to blend into one imo),i just don't connect with him as i'm sure many others do,Or maybe its the moles fault!

I can not stand Will Ferral. He's the only 1 I have a problem with.

Yes,Robert Redford can act.....I just don't like his movies.I also like Tom Cruise a lot.

I think stuff in his personal life is having alot of effect on his declining popularity, but I'm not sure it's the Scientology aspect of it. I think it has more to do with him dropping Nicole Kidman & their kids like a sack of rocks for Katie Holmes (Who's parents are staunchly against the marriage & also against her converting to sScientology. She was brought up strict Catholic.) and also for his ignorant comments regarding Brooke Shields & post-partem depression, and maybe a little bit of how he seems to be getting progressively more insane with each public appearance.


Anyways, on with the reply...

I think Tom Hanks is a good actor, but he doesn't pick very good scripts.

Joaquin Phoenix just bugs the shit out of me.

Denzel Washington. (Training Day and a select few other excluded, is it just me or are every one of his movies like the same fucking film?)

Snoop Dogg (I love his music, but he needs to stop trying to act.)

Paris Hilton (She just sucks, period. There is absolutely NO reason this chick should be famous aside from her daddy being insanely rich.)

Ben Affleck (Daredevil, Surviving Christmas, Armaggedon, Reindeer Games, Gigli, Paycheck? The only good movies he's in are all directed by Kevin Smith except for Good Will Hunting.)

Russell Crowe

Russell crowe for me too.
Al Pacino was good in the godfather
but is now taking on stereo type kind of roles.

Sarah Michelle Gellar - Sorry, I just can't get past her playing Kendall, the evil demon seed daughter of Erika Kane in "All My Children". I didn't like her acting then and I still don't care for it.

Bwind,i'm with you on Joaquin Phoenix except in Walk the Line which i liked.

If you're talking about Steve Martin in the remake, I completly agree. Didnt like him much to begin with, and his complete hackjob on Pink Panther made me lose any shred of respect that I may have had for him.

If you're talking about Peter Sellers in the original, I dont think I can talk to you anymore.

Have you seen a lot of Steve Martin movies beyond the required ones like The Jerk and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

I'm sure that he was talking about Peter Sellers... I doubt that he doesn't know who Steve Martin is. I loved Peter Sellers, what year did he die?
