Halloween at 42!

What is wrong with IMDB, my good sir?

there's 9 movies on that list that I wouldn't qualify as horror

I thought the same thing. I also thought Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead were a bit low. Also, it seems people really love the classics....as in the 1930's.

Those were good films....

nothing even goes over 8. people on imdb are far too picky.

I am glad to see BTK Killer on the lowest however. what a steaming piece of crap.

I think it's just because there are far too many on there.

Not only that but people rate based on how they feel about a director, actor, or political statement that a movie "makes". So a great movie like the Departed could get a 1 from a guy who thinks that it's a rip off of Infernal Affairs while a movie like House of the Dead could get a 10 from the director who goes on and rates his own movies.

"Aliens" at nr. 4???

Totally disagree.

There are so many things wrong with that chart (which is why I posted it), but I actually think that the users rated Alien and Aliens about where they should be. I also don't mind Psycho at number 1. Psycho and Alien, for better or worse, really created their respective genres(slasher and sci-fi horror). They were fantastic films. A better argument can be made agaisnt The Shining....nice film...but number 3? No way. (Kubrick fans will start throwing shit at me). Jaws at 7 is a stretch as well. Again, not a bad film....but there are plenty of films below it that I thought were much better.

My biggest gripes..

Battle Royale is a horror movie?

Shaun of the Dead #29, in front of films like Halloween, Phantom of the Opera and Dawn of the Dead?

I suppose it's because of the atmosphere and tension.

Never seen it, the couple of people who've told me about it say it's kinda funny. Although that's not to say it's not horror because they're completely throwed off.

HAHA! Nice list of movies to watch for free. But not exactly a "top" list. Otherwise, films like Hollow Man 2 and Hostel would not be on it. :D

But it is a cool list. And it seems that 90% of that list is films of the 60s and before. I will bookmark this and comeback and watch some of these later.

True. I hate it when people do stuff like that, but hey, it's their own opinion. I can't stand satanic movies. They're all the same, but I'm not going to downrate it on my own personal hatred towards them.
