The book is good too, but it is the only book by Ellis that I really liked.
|
good movies but had to watch it few times to understand it
|
I personally think it suck, donīt know why, only thinks so.
|
Thats a pretty cool video, I personally loved that movie I think it was fantastic psychological horror.
|
I must admit, I haven't seen the film. I did see a clip of it, but it was halfway through and it seemed to have tamed down the violence a bit from the book.
I flew through the book, though. A great read, but you don't want to spend too much time in the killer's head. Well recommended. Is the film worth checking out if you've read the book first? |
Yes, especially if you have read the book. It won't be as good, or course, but the movie keeps alot from the book. You'll remember little things from the book when you see it. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the movie is loyal to the book.

While the book is a shokingly violent (yet still wildly and distubingly funny) exploration of homocidal mania, the movie is more of a satirical evisceration of the concept of masculinity - and as this it succeed wonderfully.
The film is never quite as rich or well developed as the book (what movie ever is?) But I really love how brutally satirical it is. |

far better than the book. |

Both the book and the movie are fantastic, but the book just has such an incredible style to it, and the story had much more impact being told from Bromden's point of view. McMurphy has more of an attitude in the book as well, and the message is far clearer. I love the movie, but the book is slightly better. |
As far as American Psycho goes I think that as of right now I feel pretty evenly about the book and the movie. I loved them both but for totally different reasons.

So far as the movie, its alright. Wasnt crazy about it. Worth watching if you havnt seen it. But I can think of alot of movies Id rather watch.
|
i love the movie. with each viewing i think it gets better. i have never fully read the book though, so i can't really compare the two. i use to work at a library at my college and during work when i was supose to be putting away books on the shelfs i would just usually read american pyscho. what i catch out of the book sounding a lot more graphic than what was in teh film. i wish the film would of went as far as the book did. but that probably wasn't possible.
