The First Power

Anybody seen this movie? It was a 1990 horror film, staring LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS, and JEFF KOBER. i liked it, kober i thought carried the film. that guy just creeps me the fuck out. what did you guys think of the film?

It was all right, but it got that whole back-from-the-dead-executed-killer sub-genre really rolling. Never a good thing.

I never saw it but I wanted to ever since I saw the trailer when it first came out. If it's about a killer being ressurected or whatever, I'll pass. I thought it was about the Antichrist/Satan being born into the earth to cause the apocalypse or something. Too bad. Biblical Doomsday is always a good theme for a movie.

when i was younger the movie was okay. bought it again recently and gave to a g/f of mine..it wasn't that good IMO. i really tried to like it but i just couldn't hang  they talk about him having the 1st power of resurrection but then if you watch he has all these other powers as well. i don't know, the story was kind of weak and it never really came together for me and i didn't care for the red haired chick. she was better in the 3rd installment of the sleepaway camp series. if you like those types of movies though see SHOCKER or THE HORROR SHOW or that one movie w/ denzel..i'm drawing a blank

That movie with Denzel is Fallen, much better than the 1st Power and I dont care for LDP but I have a weakness for Julian Moore, I believe that was her gorgeous redhead.

There is another movie with Chuck Norris, called Hellbound, that reminds me of the First Power.

Dr.Kelvinstein 01-12-2004 10:12 PM

Chuck Norris' Hellbound has a scene that is even bad for a Chuck Norris movie. Remember at the first of the movie when he lets the muscle-bound punk hit him in the face as hard as he can, then smiles and says, "My turn"? WTF was up with that?

Just Norris being a badass. You can't argue with it. Might as well accept it. The guy sings his own theme song after all.
