if em to believe in anything such as..i would have to say yes to voodoo..
I have seen kunta kuntay movies.

Roderick Usher 02-18-2007 04:30 PM

It's vodou. I spent a short while as a practising voduisant. Belief is quite possibly the most powerful force on earth.

jay o2 waster 02-18-2007 05:36 PM

Any thing is possible but after seeing Serpent and the Rainbow, I have decided not to mess with any kind of voodoo.

archaic: old-fashioned or no longer used; writers sometimes use archaic words if they are setting a text in a previous age and wish to create an illusion of authenticity and/or are just unbelievably pompous

Exact definition straight out of webster's dictionary btw :p When 99% of people in North America spell it Voodoo it means it can be spelled Voodoo :) word up on belief being the most powerful force on earth though.

Sometimes I'll tell people that my religion is voodoo if they ask me what I believe in. That shuts people up. haha

Unaboner3000 02-18-2007 06:22 PM

Voodoo and witchcraft sound cool, but the Church of Satan would frown on me taking up either one. And I wouldn't want to piss off my Satanic friends. Our get-togethers are a blast....animal mutilations, grave robbing, and random acts of crime. Is voodoo this much fun? :D

And one of the definitions for pompous is..."Characterized by excessive self-esteem"

Rod knows he's pompous as much as I know I am pompous. I think Rod might actually have an edge on me though :D

I like him actually, I just like giving him a hard time. ;)

Why do you people keep adding stuff like this on like I'm a noob?

X¤MurderDoll¤X 02-18-2007 06:47 PM

I had a really, really shitty day. My head is pounding and I don't think I'm at all capable of thinking so I really shouldn't be on here... addicted to the internet. :( I just thought most people thought I didn't like him, because I didn't at first.

not trying to talk to people like they don't know anything but you know the not capable of thinking right now thing. haha

Despare 02-18-2007 06:52 PM

The real question is, why would your aunt want to cause you pain? Maybe you deserve it. Anyways, I don't personally believe in either but maybe I'm just choosing not to so I can feel a little bit of false security.

Chill doll, I was just kiddin around. And believe me I know better than most people.

I have migraines all the time and staring at a screen never helps. Maybe you should lay down, or take a heavy dose of mind numbing medication like I do.

she's has a grudge against me because i didnt sell her a pound of ciggerettes,
she was trying to call the shots like if i was buying it.
it was good stuff and she was trying to rip me off, i wasnt having that shit.

slayer666 02-19-2007 05:46 AM

I don't believe in anything supernatural, but I do believe that highly suggestible people who have been raised in a superstitious culture can be susceptible to harm through these mechanisms.

I think the chances of you being completely full of shit are far greater than the chances that your aunt is practicing voodoo.

Not archaic at all, the Mambo with whom I practised spelled it "Vodou" so I'll take her word for it over Websters.

The_Return 02-19-2007 03:14 PM

Im more into Pastafarianism myself.

Being a writer I would think you would know that just because a word is spelled one way doesn't mean there aren't other ways of spelling it that are just as acceptable.

bwind22 02-20-2007 01:15 AM

Obviously there are people that practice both, so it's real enough to them. Personally, I don't believe that there are any legit sort of supernatural powers to either. I do not think someone could cast a spell on me because I would only think they are crazy, not that there's a spell on me. It's all about perception & if the victim of a spell believes they are cursed or whatever, they can fool themselves into thinking that they really are. If a victim of a spell believes it's all a bunch of bullshit and gives it no creedence at all, I'm pretty sure nothing would ever come of it.

They're basically like any other religion or belief system. You either have faith or you don't.

bwind22 02-20-2007 04:38 AM

I guess I'm not entirely sure where you're going with that last comment austin. Yeah, some people have faith & some don't. But if someone with faith tried to put a spell or a curse or whatever on someone that doesn't have faith, I don't think it'd amount to anything more than words being chanted. Conversely, if someone with faith put a spell on someone else with faith, they could fool themselves into believing their actually cursed, but that's all it would be... Someone fooling themself.
