28 Weeks Later

I'm pretty excited about this one...It should be out soon
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/28_Weeks_Later

mchristopher08 02-16-2007 10:05 PM

I wasn't too big a fan of the first one. it just drug on for me. it was nothing i hadn't already seen in a zombie flick. The plot for 28 weeks, doesn't sound too exciting either.

DP McCoy 02-17-2007 04:37 AM

I'm looking forward to this one, loved the first one so i'm hoping this sequel does the original justice.Robert Carlyle is good in pretty much everything he does and Danny Boyle is still involved,so i'm optimistic.

stygianwitch 02-17-2007 12:18 PM

I was disappointed with the first one, hope this is better

I thought it was pretty good compared to a lot of other stuff that came out around the same time...We only get about 20-30 GOOD horror movies per year...I'd watch it again, and that means a lot to me...I usually don't care to watch the same thing over again...Of course, I wait a little while to try to forget most of it before I watch it again...

It's just about time for us to watch this one again :)

HaHa...I used the word 'again' way too many times in this post

screamqueen 02-17-2007 01:07 PM

I'm interested in this just to see where they take it after the first one. (I wasn' t crazy about the first one, but it was okay.)

Roderick Usher 02-17-2007 01:09 PM

I really enjoyed the first one. It was fast, hard, brutal and really well crafted. I'll certainly be going to see this one in the theater.

Movies that arent in theaters, independant films, and so on.

Thanks for clearing that up Sweetie :)...Many of the movies that I would consider 'good' never hit a theater screen...I also think that some movies are 'good', when many people may not have liked them

If you're talking about MAINSTREAM movies...I'd say we get about 5-10 that are at least worth watching...And of course, some years are better for it than others

The_Return 02-18-2007 05:53 AM

Im nott overly excited for this....really liked the first one, but it's really not sequel material IMO.

I'll still probably see it just to see how it turns out, but Im not expecting a whole lot.

Geddy 02-18-2007 09:29 AM

I loved the first one,I can't wait for this one.

Gus 02-18-2007 09:58 AM

i just hope it doesnt open with a penis shot again:mad:

Cryptkeeper 02-18-2007 05:48 PM

It seems like they have been saying that this movie is coming out for a long time. I have been waiting for it. I liked the first one, but was not to crazy about the soldiers part. Still, I am looking forward to the second one. I just hope it's not too much of a let down.

Unaboner3000 02-18-2007 06:16 PM

I liked the first enough to at least rent the DVD of this one....which is saying something. I haven't exactly been thrilled with alot of horror films in recent years.

Are you hoping the writers are reading and will be tricked with your reverse psychology?

I'm very excited to see this one, I thought 28 Days Laters was a great new horror film when it came out. The story was well done and it felt really fresh and exciting despite the methodical pace which seemed to turn some off.

What!?! That was my favorite part in the movies, oh, besides those speedy zombies. I think every movie needs at least two penis shots. No balls though.

Despare 02-19-2007 03:06 PM

I wouldn't call 28 Days Later a zombie film, in fact that was one of the best parts about it. It was more akin to The Crazies then it was to Night of the Living Dead.

ya but the feel of it made me think i was watching a zombie movie

Shadow 02-21-2007 02:32 AM

I really liked 28 Days Later, definatly one of my favourites in my collection. I liked that it was not zombies. The fact that it was not zombies made it more scary. Human rage being brutal and powerful. The ending was brutal and to the point. Made me think yet still had effective gore. I am looking forward to seeing 28 Weeks Later, I just hope it is as good.

Despare 02-21-2007 02:39 PM

I supposed the infected people fit a definition...

Informal. a. a person whose behavior or responses are wooden, listless, or seemingly rote; automaton

DP McCoy 03-22-2007 01:23 AM

Just watched some raw footage of this, and i'm getting more and more optimistic about the movie.Check out the link over on UHM.

slayer666 03-22-2007 01:32 AM

I really liked the first one. It will be interesting to see what they do with this one. I'll certainly check it out.

no i think it will be good
the cheap attempt will be in 3 years when they make 28 years later and they take it yup you guessed it into space.

i loved the ending of the first one when they made the message for the fighter jets. my bother said" Why not just spell H E L P " and i said " because this way it said H E L L until they finished the "O" . so i thought that was a cool smart ending

Riff 04-17-2007 02:56 PM

I loved the original, but my understanding is everyone from the original refused to be involved in this one. I take that as a warning...

Danny Boyle recently said that he thought the sequel looks so good that he'd consider jumping aboard a third installment if this one delivers at the B.O.

I may have to reconsider then... I still think it ended nicely as it stood though.

agreed. it falls into the "unnecessary" category, but that never stopped me from seeing a film:p

stenchofdeath 04-18-2007 08:24 AM

I liked the first 28 days , and i am looking forward to 28 weeks. I have only seen the promotional poster on the site and a promotional shot in a magazine. This is enough for me to want to see the sequel. I think the fact that it is coming out of London is why i liked the first movie. As somebody has said on this forum, we don't see many horror films coming out of London.

ZombieKiller 04-23-2007 07:09 AM

"28 Weeks Later": Good or Bad?

:D Hurrah! The sequel to the box office smash "28 Days Later" has finally been acknowledged to the general public. "28 Days Later" was one of my favorite "apocalyptic" movies and I can't wait to see it's sequel. Maybe it will suck. As many horror films go, the sequels usually tend to bomb. Take "The Hills Have Eyes 2" for example. The 2005 remake of "The Hills Have Eyes" was excellent(personal opinion). It gave me the chills for at least 3 days. It's sequel "The Hills Have Eyes 2", was absolutely horrible. I can not wait to fork over $8.50 to see "28 Weeks Later".

What do you think?

novakru 04-24-2007 12:32 PM

I want to see this

$8.50????

damn, it's $10.75 at my theater...but it's a 2 block walk:)

And yeah, I'll be seeing this in the theater for certain.

Shadow 04-25-2007 10:08 AM

Thank you for the trailer. This film looks great. A little disappointed that its different characters but at the same time their story has been told right. I think the repopulation idea is good (and clearly stupid lol who in their right mind would want to return after that lol). Im looking forward to seeing this film.

I enjoyed the whole film. I think the Military part was important to the feel of the film. It introduced the repopulation idea (in a crazy way) which is then followed up in 28 weeks later. It made sense and worked well. I think it showed the abondonment of the country, when even the military men where left on their own. In my opinion it showed the impact on different people. I liked the brutal scenes as the main characters tried to escape. Showing human rage. Sorry if you dont understand what I am trying to say I find it difficult to put into words.
