Going to the movies!

Yay, I finally get to go to the movies this weekend! Anybody have any suggestions as to what I should see? There's quite a few out that look interesting to me.

VampiricClown 02-16-2007 11:12 AM

Hannibal Rising was ok, but not great.

hammerfan 02-16-2007 11:13 AM

That actually is one of them that I had on the list. Maybe I'll put it at the bottom. Thanks VC.

The Last King of Scotland

VampiricClown 02-16-2007 12:06 PM

Anytime. I just happened to go see it Wednesday, otherwise, I couldn't help you. lol

But now, I've never seen the other Hannibal movies, so you may enjoy it. It was too much of a revenge/action film for my taste. I wanted to be scared.

Save your money and wait untill 300 comes out.:)

Pan's Labyrinth & Children of Men are still in theaters if you haven't seen them, you owe it to yourself.

I'm taking the kids to Ghostrider tonight. Not really looking forward to it, but the kids will love it and I can at least enjoy the spectacle of it all.

alkytrio666 02-16-2007 04:56 PM

Yeah, those two would be the second and third best of they year, IMO.

Babel is good, too, and Blood Diamond.

alkytrio666 02-16-2007 05:15 PM

The Departed, easily.

Marroe 02-16-2007 06:07 PM

I wish I had something to suggest but I haven't seen anything lately. I have been wanting to go to the movies for like 8 weeks now :(
I'll probably go see Ghost Rider tomorrow or something.

epic movie

hammerfan 02-19-2007 04:25 AM

Ended up seeing The Messengers. What a waste of money.

crabapple 02-19-2007 06:28 AM

Yeah, that's what I was hearing. Think I'll stick with Evil Dead movies for now!

Why is it they always show the interesting parts in the commercials? Wait, never mind, I know the answer to that.

It was so disappointing. I thought it was going to be a good ghost story and it turned out to be a piece of shit.

The Haunting and The Changeling. Never got better than those two films for me.

Did you ever see Ghost Story with Fred Astaire? Now, I haven't seen it since it came out, but if I remember right it was pretty good.

crabapple 02-19-2007 07:17 AM

I did like it. It's not the book, the book is much more complex, but it's a fun movie and fairly creepy. Plus you get to see Fred Astaire stab someone. I mean, come on, that's worth five bucks right there.

Yeah, the movie didn't do Peter Straub justice...But, to be fair...There were so many intricate details in the book, it would make for a really long movie to get it all in there

It's a pity The Messengers isn't any good...I know I'll still buy it though...the previews remind us SO much of Ash...He is ALWAYS looking at some area just above his head, near the ceiling, or slightly to his right or left (but, still above him) and smiling and laughing, he's done it since he was only a couple weeks old...It creeps Seri out...lol

Haha, I'd like to see that.

It's a proven fact that babies and toddlers can see spirits. Dang, I can't remember where I heard that. But, it makes a lot of sense. I remember a friend of mine was looking through a family photo album with his son, who was around 8-9 at the time, and they came across a picture of my friend's father, the boy's grandfather. And the boy said "Oh, that's the man who used to visit me all the time." Weirded my friend out big time because his father died before his son was born!

Oh, when Seri was 2, we were at my mother's...My mother has a small etched glass window in her front door...Seri was playing and all of a sudden she just jumps up and runs to the door smiling and pointing, and said "I see grandpa"...Well, we opened the door because we figured someone must be out there...But, there was no one there, and if there HAD been, I don't know how she would have ever seen them because it was night time and pitch black outside...
