Sandman headed to the screen?

Joel Schumacher want to adapt Neil Gaiman's Sandman into a feature

http://iesb.net/index.php?option=com...1822&Itemid=99

Will Dream have niples on his cloak?

The Flayed One 02-06-2007 08:03 AM

Don't worry. If not, we'll at least get lots of slow panning shots of his crotch:rolleyes:

Doc Faustus 02-06-2007 10:06 AM

Schumacher will just tighten Dream's leather pants and cast Paris Hilton as Death. Expect an over-the-top performance by Johnny Knoxville as the Corinthian.

Roderick Usher 02-06-2007 10:36 AM

casting, that'll be interesting

Who would you want to see play

Dream
Death
Desire
Delusion
The Corinthian
Cain
Abel

I'd say
Vincent Cassel as Dream
Helena Bonham Carter as Death
John Cameron Mitchell as Desire
Samanthe Morton as Delusion
Christopher Eccleston as the Corinthian
Robert Englund as Cain
Leland Orser as Abel

it's the story of Morpheus, the embodiment of Dream, and his family (Death, Desire, Destiny, Delusion, Destruction). It is an ongoing mythical tale thaqt is as amorphus as a dream itself. Black humor, ancient history, contemporary societal issues and kooks throughout the ages all exist as part of "the dreaming"

It must be read to be appreciated.

Shadow 02-15-2007 09:51 AM

Read the comics really do. I think I still have 2 more to read but I loved each one. Rodericks description was very good but I dont think it can really be explained. Seriously read Sandman.

There needs to be more crotch shots in movies, there's just not enough. I'd totally go see Sandman the movie. Great comic!

Shadow 02-20-2007 03:49 PM

I will go and see the film also. I did love the comic I am just worried that I will hate the film lol. I guess I dont know until I see it.

The_Return 02-20-2007 04:25 PM

Guess I'll have to get off my ass an track down the comics...

Been wanting to check 'em out for awhile, but never really had the incentive to pick 'em up.

Living in the uk is soooo boring.

Doc Faustus 02-21-2007 09:15 AM

Getting ahold of Sandman stuff really doesn't take a comic store, anyway. You'll find the GNs at any Borders.

a mccuaig 02-21-2007 11:43 AM

That's true, Borders does have a small comic section. Border is great for buying Troma movies too! Seattle has a crap load of comic shops. I think that too many nerds live here, self included.:D

Read and own all the collections encompising the whole series (and a few of the sequel/prequel books too) and while I love Sandman a movie just makes me want to hurl. Especially with "him" at the head of it. No thanks. How about we just leave a comic as a comic for once. Sandman is just too epic for the screen.
